„Loved the secluded location within walking distance of the southern end of Lake Windmere. The cottage was smart and very clean, and well equipped, but we were stumpted on how to adjust the settings on the upmarket oven (a manual in kitchen drawer would have helped). We found that we had to be vigilant about the step in dark slate floor between bedrooms and kitchen/lounge (we used a bit of white cardboard to visually remind ourselves.) Had a great stay at The Bothy, we highly recommend it “

„Absolutely beautiful building and location on Ullswater, spotlessly clean. Complimentary bottle off fizz on arrival was a nice touch. Road noise can be a slight issue but does die down of an evening and can’t really be heard from inside. Generator only runs for a short while sporadically and again isn’t a real problem. Would highly recommend at the time of year we went -views are fantastic. I would definitely return!“

„The lords seat was a lovely place to stay, very comfortable and clean. Great location with amazing views. Nice to have the extras like the dvds and games. The only disappointing thing was the water going off (ironic in the lake district) but obviously not your fault. The only thing that would have helped is instructions on a couple of things. „We had a very enjoyable stay at Rosebank the place was immaculate. The little touches of fresh flowers , welcome pack for us and our dog was very much appreciated. Even hand wash in both bathrooms and kitchen we usually take our own as none usually provided , plenty of dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid everything thought of . "The historic building is fabulous, the atmosphere great, it's the pole position in Windermere, great view on the lake. I wonder if it is necessary that during the summer season the building is under construction. With scaffoldings in front of the windows, some parts of the building beside the entrance in bad condition, and even a corridor we had to pass everyday was stuffed with furniture, cardboard boxes ... This is not the atmosphere for holidays. Due to repairs on some wires, the internet connection broke down every night. The location is great, but there's some work to do to bring it back to its standard. "

"Mitten im Ort gelegen, aber dennoch ruhig. Mit dem kostenlosen Parkplatz hinter dem Hotel hat es auch jeden Abend geklappt, kann aber schon voll werden. Es gibt aber wohl auch noch einen zweiten Parkplatz, den wir aber nicht gebraucht haben. Meiner Frau hat der Pool super gefallen, gepflegt, sauber und ansprechend gestaltet. Der Whirlpool hat uns beiden sehr gut gefallen. Frühstück war sehr gut, das Abendessen im Hotel hatten wir nur einmal genossen. War jetzt nicht schlecht, aber irgendwie fehlte der Pfiff, da sind wir lieber im Ort Essen gegangen und im Zweifelsfalle geht Fish & Chips halt immer. Sehr schönes Zimmer mit uriger Einrichtung, fehlt eigentlich nur noch Sherlock Holmes der einmal vorbeischaut. Wenn es draußen warm wird, dann kann es auch im Zimmer super warm/heiß werden. Dadurch das wir ein Zimmer mit Balkon hatten, konnten wir aber gut durchlüften und so das Zimmer zum Schlafen auf erträgliche Temperaturen bekommen."
