Das Castillo des Hotels ist der Deluxe-Teil von Sanctuary und bietet einen Butler-Service. Unser Butler Jeremy hat uns bei der Ankunft versichert: Von nun an brauchen Sie sich nicht mehr an die Rezeption zu wenden, alles geht über mich. Von wegen! Die Reparatur der Klimaanlage, das Auffüllen des Kühlschranks mit Milch und Orangensaft hat nicht geklappt ohne mehrmaliges Vorsprechen bei der Rezeption. Jeremy hat uns - ohne Fragen - Tische reserviert im japanischen Restaurant um 21.30! und im italienischen Restaurant. Umbuchungen über ihn waren nicht möglich. Wir haben dies selber gemacht. Als er merkte, dass seine sogenannten Services zu nichts taugen, hat er sich aus dem Staub gemacht, nicht mehr auf Whatsupp geantwortet, uns nicht mehr geholfen und auch beim Check-out nicht mehr verabschiedet. Er hat wohl geahnt, dass wir für diesen Non-Service keine Trinkgelder verteilen. Die Aussenarchitektur des Castillo erscheint grossartig, die Innenarchitektur ist schlecht. Man bewegt sich in Katakomben, in einem Trakt mit einem unmotivierten Wasserfall fällt die Decke ins Wasser. Das Essen ist so lala. Das Personal ist immer auf Zusatztrinkgelder aus. Dann ist auch der Service besser. Die Zimmer mit Indoor-Pool und Ocean View im Castillo kosten 820 USD, haben also Preise wie Mauritius- oder Maldedivenhotels. Bezüglich Service, Ausstattung, Essensqualität kann das Sanctuary, das zur Marriott-Gruppe gehört, den Mitbewerbern NIEMALS das Wasser reichen. Da besteht noch ein Riesen-Gap.

Wo viel Sonne ist, ist auch Schatten
Super Partyhotel mit guter Stimmung und sehr gutem Service. Die villas brauchen dringend Sanierung. Bei uns hat es reingeregnet, im Schlafzimmer ging die Klima nicht und im Kleiderschrank war der kauende Holzwurm Der Zimmerservice ist mau. Echt befremdlich ist der Torwärter. Er lässt einen nur aus der Anlage, wenn er sich vergewissert hat, dass auch alle Extras bezahlt sind... Das Essen ist für all inclusive echt richtig gut.

I did not like the hard sale for an upgrade on room which did not enhance my experience other than the butler. Room had issues with toilet area commode seat broken. Would not do the upgrade again!!

So much litter around the property, which will no doubt end up in the ocean. The rain gutter right outside the gate to the resort is stuffed with garbage bags, and there are blue and purple plastic cleaning gloves laying in many places on the pavement. Landscaping was dead in many places and weeds way overgrown. They also dump loads of sand on the beach every day which means the water has zero visibility (the sand washes back in the water) so any snorkelling was totaly impossible. Iberostar does it so much better in the way they care for the environment. Food at Sanctuary was very good. Entertainment was ok. Staff was nice. Resort was at 50 percent and they would not allow 1 hour later checkout, even though we offered to pay the 40 dollar charge. Not a bad trip, but we probably wont go back here.

This is a huge, beautifully maintained property. The food selections are delicious and fresh. The staff are beyond friendly and fun. Better than any place I’ve ever visited. It’s close to the airport. For an all inclusive, it’s the best one I’ve ever been to.

I loved everything about the property except that the beach is very small and half of it has lots of rocks that can hurt your feet and even make you fall when getting into the water

The Sanctuary is a beautiful meandering resort with multiple different residence types, pools and restaurants. This was our first all-inclusive, adult only resort. We were worried that we would be bored. We were not! Lots to do, or not do as you prefer. We would come back.
