I booked Belmont Cottage for me and my senior parents to stay in for a few days. We needed a comfy spot to hang out, cook meals together, and get some good sleep. The home is in a great location, nestled back behind another rental on a quiet street near downtown. Loved the Scandi decor and having parking spots right out front! Beds were very comfy. (Bring a sleep mask if you're using the smaller BR, as theres no curtain and the sun comes right in onto the bed). The Kitchen is very well appointed and we easily cooked gourmet meals at the house. This would be a five-star stay but as other guests have noted, the home does have a musty smell and can be a bit damp. It may be because we were unable to get all 4 mini splits to run, despite the host trying to help remotely. (Host was very nice and helpful). I think if air--whether warm, cool or just the fan--- is circulating, the smell is probably not as prominent, or it may even dissipate altogether.

Musty Smell

We didn't end up staying at the cottage, because of the smell. I booked this place because my daughter was excited about the loft bed, however, when we entered the cottage there was a very musty smell even with an air purifier, fan, and AC going and I was nervous of potential mold exposure for me and my family. This was the most expensive place we booked during our 8 day trip, so we were disappointed to not be able to stay in the accommodations we booked. The management company responded promptly, were polite, and communicative. They said that no one has mentioned the smell, but when I went back to the listing and looked at past reviews more thoroughly, there was another occupant that mentioned it as well as the cleaning company. We were offered the small home in front of the cottage and we slept there for two nights. The front home was clean and had anything you might need for comfort. The front house is located on a busier road, so if you're sensitive to noise at night, I would take this into consideration. Also, the master bedroom bed sits on top of an air conditioner vent which made the bed quite cold, however, if we turned up the thermostat, the other rooms would become too warm. There is also a lot of red tape to renting this place, they made me sign an online contract before renting that contained all of your personal information and in order to use their WiFi you're required to put in your email and are asked to subscribe to their promotional information.

Impeccable service

We lived our Etsy in this charming cottage. The owners/managers were so communicative and helpful. Such a professional operation. The cottage was beautiful and clean and had all the extras we could want. Our only suggestion may be to run a portable dehumidifier because the older cottage wasn’t insulated. It cooled down well but was a touch humid and therefore a touch musty. Not a big problem at all. Thanks so much for a great stay!

Little comfy cottage

Our stay at the cottage was wonderful! The place was spotless, well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It truly felt like a home away from home. The only small recommendation I have is for future guests to bring portable shades if they prefer more privacy, as the bamboo style shades are somewhat see through from the outside, even when down. That being said, this didn’t take away from our experience, and I would stay here again!

Adorable & cozy cottage

This property is one of my favorite places! It is so cute and cozy. Has everything you need for a family of 4 or 5. It is private and safe. The proximity to the adorable town of Belmont is very close and it’s about 15-20 minutes to Charlotte. A truly comfortable place!

Charlotte-Not Charlotte

We've been going to the Charlotte area for a decade or so to visit family. We are not "city folk" so we try to stay out of the big city as much as possible. Because of that, this place is a perfect location. The cottage is in the charming little city of Belmont and sits back a bit from the road to provide a little more privacy. We love the fact that within a mile or two there are lots of great places to eat, shop, and go walking. We loved going to Lofton Riverfront Park and watching the birds and wildlife. As we ventured out further (about 15-20 minutes) we were able to visit the beautiful Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden and the US Olympic Whitewater Training Center. And for you big city folks, it is a very convenient 25-minute drive to downtown Charlotte. The cottage itself is very clean, the words "cute" and "charming" came up a few times when sharing pictures with family. And Gwynne was very responsive to our questions and changing needs. We would highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again.

Belmont Cottage stay

Belmont Cottage was just like it showed in the pictures. The kitchen was well stocked. had a little trouble figuring out the AC but finally did and it worked well. The location was great. Historic downtown Belmont was great and had lots of good restaurants. The host was very responsive when we had any questions. We would stay there again if we came out to Charlotte

Perfect little house

This cozy cottage was prefect for our family of 3. Very close drive to downtown Belmont restaurants, coffee shops, stores. And an easy, quick drive to the Whitewater Rafting Center, which was the main purpose of our visit. The decor was very pleasing and the home felt very relaxing. Everything was very clean. The outdoor space was great as well. It was a very comfortable stay. We had a question about the door code when we arrived and the homeowner responded to our message immediately!! We hope to stay again next time we are in the area! Loved it!

Cozy Cottage

wonderful stay

my best friend and i needed a getaway and had a wonderful stay with everything you’d need in the cottage as well as having a homey and Scandinavian furnished vibe. we didn’t find it walkable to Belmont due to sidewalks and distance however, others may!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this fantastic property, and it exceeded all expectations. The stylish decor and thoughtful amenities made it a home away from home. With the capacity to comfortably sleep five people and the added convenience of a foldable crib, it's an excellent choice for various travelers. The patio is a true gem, accommodating up to eight people around a table and boasting a grill for those delightful outdoor gatherings. This property truly deserves its five-star rating. Impeccably maintained with a modern vibe, it offers a perfect blend of comfort and style. Highly recommend for a memorable and enjoyable stay!

Enjoyed every minute of this Gem in Belmont

This hands down was one of the best properties we have stayed in thru VRBO. The host was so responsive as well. We were there with some of the coldest temperatures in this area. The water froze and we messaged the host and within the hour she had someone out to handle it!! The home was spotless, stocked and ready to go! Thank you for such a wonderful time at your lovely home.
