Incertitude et manque de soin

Appartement spacieux et agréable présentant les inconvénients majeurs suivants : 1. Baignoire bouchée : malgré messages téléphoniques (sms et vocaux) le samedi vers 19h aucune réponse. Nous avons du déboucher par nous même la baignoire et le lavabo avec une ventouse : photos de paquets de cheveux et de saleté à disposition ! 2. Pas d'interlocuteur physique présent 3. Pas d'internet : si vous ne payer la connexion avec le site… vous n'avez pas internet… 4. Une responsable technique est venue dimanche en début après-midi et avons du attendre arrivée du plombier jusqu'à 15h30 car nous sommes seuls à avoir les clés ! Le plombier a aussi débouché les sanitaires de l'étage inférieur et ceux du sous-sol où se trouve la pièce du petit déjeuner !

Tried to cancel as sickness prevented us from traveling. Refused to refund money. Booked through Expedia - would not help us. Found out booking agent was VRBO. Had terrible experience with them in Venice and would NOT have booked if we had known. Had travel insurance - would not acknowledge.

The Marilyn Suite Was Amazing! The Building & Neighborhood Provided A Taste Of What Living In The Heart of The Chicago Is Like. Quiet, Luxurious & In The Middle Of All Kinds of Action. I Would Highly Recommend A Stay Here. I Felt Like I WAS Marilyn & Loved Every Minute Of IT!

The house is beautiful and lot of attention went into the design of each room (we we're traveling with friends). The property is on a lovely tree-lined street and in a great, walkable neighborhood. A continental breakfast was included and the communal kitchen and sitting area were tidy. We were only disappointed to learn that wifi was not included. We sent a screenshot of the property description from the Expedia app to management, since free wifi was advertised. They responded quickly and courteously, but didn't offer to comp it or do anything to make up for this error on their part. At $200-250 a night, free wifi is to be expected. I am in hospitality myself and had a guest brought this same situation to me, I absolutely would have honored what was advertised.

Great location. Bardot bed needs new mattress. Fully stocked fridge is a shared fridge in a common area along with stove/oven. Only microwave and coffee maker inside the respective rooms.

Great Place in a Great Location

This was the perfect place to stay for a visit to Chicago. The old house is in the Gold Coast is in wonderful condition. Each room is decorated in the style of a famous person. . . Elvis Presley, Audrey Hepburn, Al Capone, etc. Our room was beautifully decorated with photos of Audrey Hepburn, accessories from Breakfast at Tiffany's, and framed quotes from the movie star. The spacious room included a kitchenette with a sink, refrigerator, microwave, dishes, coffee service, etc. There was a common area which included a living room, kitchen, and patio with a fireplace. The location was in walking distance to shopping, bars, and restaurants.

Charming and perfect!

We absolutely loved this hotel. I always have a good time in Chicago, but I never particularly look forward to going back to the room. Except on this trip! Beautifully decorated, cozy and comfortable; and close to everything to boot. I felt like I was going back to my own apartment after a day of shopping and dinner (albeit much more art fully decorated than mine...) We will absolutely stay again. All hotels should be this charming!

Accomodations were fantastic, once we figured out how to get in, and where to park. Had some issues initially with figuring out access. Also, the place we were told to park did not accept my credit card, so I had to drive around about half an hour to find a place to park. Aside from that glitch, my wife loved the property and wouldn't hesitate to return.

Gorgeous, great location. Check reservation.

This property is stunning. It's close to all the action and a quick walk our Uber if you want to explore other areas in the city. The rooms are spacious, clean, and very comfortable. A light breakfast is available in the common area. The building is a walk-up. So if you are disabled or have challenges with stairs, you will want to stay on the first floor. Parking is expensive but if you use spot hero you can find a reasonable spot. I paid $46/2 nights at a garage around the corner. If you decide to stay here - this is not an on-site managed b&b. You need to get a door access code. You need to get this from the building management. They operate a number of properties around the city so if a code is not sent to you, call the number provided in your reservation at least 48 hours ahead of time. You should do this as well to verify your reservation. The B&B is booked on multiple sites and sometimes they do not talk to each other. This property is located on a quiet, high- end street in the Gold Coast. Please respect the neighborhood and neighbors. Finally, if there is an issue with your reservation, DO NOT call Expedia. They cannot help you. Work with the building management.

Fabulous option for lodging in Chicago. Wonderful location in Gold Coast within minutes of shopping and restaurants. One of a kind rooms with comfortable bedding.

Was a fantastic hotel better thrn we expected close to every yet nice to be in neighborhood. More like your own place rather then hotel. We are going back in the summer

Wonderful!

I am a well traveled 45 year old who is middle class. I say this so you understand where I am coming from.......I booked this room on a major site and the communication from the property manager was great. She emailed me instructions to get into the room as well as personally called me to make sure everything was set. I like the personal touch and it was super easy to get into the building and everything was just as expected. The room was MUCH bigger than what the pics do it justice. It was uber clean and very very comfortable. It is important to note that this is in an older building but it is decorated very tastefully and in a unique way. We absolutely loved it. There was a little kitchen in the suite, it contained a sink, fridge, microwave and many of the cups and plates you would need. We also used the dining commons in the "basement" which contained a full kitchen and seating area. You could also go outside in a small, but very quaint seating area that had an outside grill. The breakfast is a continental affair with waters and yogurt in the fridge, bread, english muffins, fruit and some bars. Nothing major but a nice way to take care of the morning hunger pains. On the day of checkout, we were allowed to keep our luggage in the house below the stairs....the place is a 20 minute walk to millennium station, 5 minute walk to many restaurants in the gold coast and 5 minutes to the Water Tower place as well as the rest of Michigan Ave.

Beautiful home, terrible customer service

Let me start by saying the amenities, building, and location are beautiful and well maintained. The issue was with the property manager. Check-in is at 4pm and we arrived on Friday around 4:15. I had not received an communication from the owner or property manger so figured someone would be at the property to greet us. No one was there, nor was there any information in the emails I had received from hotels.com with information about the enter the building. I called the number on the email confirmation about 6-7 times and left a voicemail. Finally someone returned my call and proceeded to scream at me about not being able to read emails because the information was sent to me, along with other important information and threatening to make me leave the property. Once we got inside the room I got another phone call saying that the welcome email had never been sent, and that "computers have a mind of their own". I have never felt more disrespected in my life, especially by someone representing a business. I would advise against staying here as this interaction almost ruined my weekend.

Gold Coast gem

The Grace Kelly suite is beautiful and expansive with lots of natural light. Cedar Street is a quiet respite from the rush of Rush Street and State. The only downsides are it has only one (nice sized and well appointed bathroom) and no elevator. Still, highly recommended.

We celebrated our 35th anniversary in Chicago and had a very relaxing stay at your hotel. Decor is to die for and staff is extremely friendly and we will return.

Amazing Place to Stay

We stayed in the "Grace Kelly" suite--a two bedroom apartment. It is gorgeous! The decor is elegant and tasteful like something out of a Hollywood movie. It is very spacious with living room, dining room and kitchen in addition to the two bedrooms. There is also an in-unit laundry. Kitchen if fully equipped. Be aware that this unit is a third-floor walk up -- no elevator! Also, there isn't a TV in the bedroom. Not an issue for us, but might be for some.
