  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Our Family of 12 had an outstanding time at Corolla. All of us said it was the BEST vacation ever. Much of that was the peaceful, serene and private setting of the house. A high percentage of that was the private pool.

Great place!

We got the family together here for a beach trip! The house was perfect. When we got tired from a long day at the beach our kids were excited to go back to the house and chill in the pool. Everything was clean and welcoming! Would definitely come back again.

The house was a very good fit for us! It was spacious. Just a couple of suggestions are, the bathroom drainage from the shower on level two was a bit slow one of the queen size beds on the second level was uncomfortable. My first impression of the back of the house was that it needed a good power washing.. The back deck and furniture really need a good scrubbing. With that being said, I think it’s a fabulous house. We had a fabulous time. The hot tub and pool were fabulous. The master bed was wonderful and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. We met a couple of your employees, and they couldn’t have been any nicer

The ac upstairs did not cool! They came twice to fix but did not fix, thank goodness was mild temps. However they did respond promptly to calls and text! The gate code did not work when we arrived, couldn’t get straight until next day and was left waiting for someone to let us in! Line backed up and people were honking! The pool was dirty and wasn’t cleaned until mid stay! The outside of house and pool area needed to be power washed! Wouldn’t not stay again, was disappointed and upset paid a lot for a house to have issues as soon as we checked in!

Birthday retreat

A couple friends joined me for a birthday getaway weekend and it was nothing short of relaxing and amazing. Great property, the listing on VRBO was accurate and left nothing unmentioned. The neighborhood and security were both very hospitable and inviting. Would definitely recommend this listing.

Wonderful Place to Stay

The property is in a great, quiet gated community. The house was a little too far for our group to walk to the beach but the community provides a shuttle service to the beach and back which was great. The house was very close to many amenities, so we were never missing anything we needed. The house was very clean and easily accommodated our group of 5 adults and 3 kids. The pool was well maintained and was cleaned twice while we were there. There was a bit confusion upon arrival regarding the code to the front gate, as the code emailed prior to arrival didn't work, but we were able to call and get that sorted out. One other comment is that the dishwasher was missing a wheel on the bottom tray and one of the kitchen cabinet doors had a broken hinge. Neither item was a deal breaker for us, though. Overall, we had a great experience and another wonderful visit to Corolla. Thanks!

Nice accommodations Quiet neighborhood. Good amenities. My family and I have a good time. The only thing I was dessapointed is that the hot tub was no working and on the listed description was a room with full beds were switched for a queen bed.Beside that everything was fine. I highly recommend this rental house.

Great Community

The house was great for our extended family trip. We loved having the pool right there at the house and there is nice privacy with the landscaping and trees around the house. The Currituck Club amenities are a huge selling point - the trolley to the beach and having groceries/coffee/ice cream/restaurants/beach stores etc. RIGHT THERE totally made it effortless with little kids. My husband also enjoyed the golf course. I would recommend renting a golf cart and/or bikes for the week to ride around the community. Only hiccup was that housekeeping had not been by yet when we arrived at our check in time. They were very responsive and quick in addressing the issue and we were able to swim in the pool and order a pizza while they came and cleaned the house.

Not As Things Appear - Partial Refund Due

We had slight problems with the gate code it did not work so a gentleman waiting to get into the property walked up and put in his code to let us in. There were 2 cars of our family. I had called for assistance before the gentleman quickly entered the code (he seemed in a hurry). We were finally given another code. It worked fine the rest of our stay. Before we had time to get to the house I received a call that a repair person needed to get into the house for previous damage that had been done and she wanted to know which day would be more convenient Monday or Tuesday. I told her Monday would be fine to call before they came. I was not told what the damage was. So when we entered the house it was beautiful. Before I did anything else we all started searching to see what damages we would find so we would not be held responsible and I took a picture of a round ottoman that was damaged on the side, there were stains on the furniture and the floors and rugs were not clean. Crumbs on the floors and carpet, the walls were filthy with dirt and handprints and there was some sort of food on the wall going into the bedroom on main floor and going up into the area with the desk and couch the walls were dirty. There was no toilet paper whatsoever not even one roll so a trip to the store was necessary to purchase some. Well when we proceeded to the game room in basement we found out what the damage being repaired was. There was water damage and the ceiling had fallen in and the rug from the floor had been spread on the couch. We had been running water in the kitchen and my grandson came running upstairs and told us the entire ceiling was leaking and he ran and got towels and pans to catch the water. This was as soon as we arrived on Saturday. On Monday the repairman called and came to fix the ceiling still not knowing where the water was coming from. He did a lousy job of fixing it???????? So we all took showers from our trip and was going to go out to eat and when I went in the bathroom on the second level and took a shower my grandson told me the ceiling was pouring the leak again. So I called to report the leak, we had dinner reservations so we left. While at dinner we get a call someone was going to check the leak while we were out...which I did not appreciate. So the leak was never fixed while we were staying there and yet we had the inconvenience and water to continue to mop up. Refund of part of rental should be reimbursed
