Welcome to Northwind, a one-of-a-kind custom oceanfront vacation home on the 4x4 beaches of Carova Beach, Northern Outer Banks, North Carolina. This 4-bedroom, 2,748 sq ft property sleeps 12 and offers something truly unique on the OBX — a main house plus a fully independent Villa, connected by a shared deck, giving your group the perfect blend of togetherness and privacy. A four-wheel-drive vehicle is required; the property sits approximately 7 miles up the 4x4 beach. Pool and hot tub open mid-May through late September.
Main House – Three Levels of Oceanfront Living
The main house spans three levels with a ground-level entrance. The second level features a sweeping oceanfront living space with a fully equipped kitchen, dining area seating 10, living room, laundry, and half bath. A king bedroom with private bath and deck access sits just off this level, along with a hot tub on the northeast deck. The third level offers an additional oceanfront lounge with sofa, TV, and deck with panoramic Atlantic views. Two bedrooms on this level feature a room with two queens and a room with a king and twin trundle, sharing a private half bath and access to a dedicated shower room.
The Villa – Private Suite
Connected to the main house by the second-level deck, the Villa is a fully independent 432 sq ft retreat with its own kitchenette, full bath, queen bed on the bottom floor (new!), and a loft queen bedroom. Perfect for a couple or small family who wants complete privacy while staying with the group.
Private Pool & Outdoor Spaces
The large private pool sits on the oceanside of the property, surrounded by ample seating. A boardwalk connects the house, pool, and outdoor shower — no sandy feet tracked inside. Both gas and charcoal grills are available. Two beach season passes included for beach parking.
Views & Setting
Crashing waves, soft ocean breezes, and blue Atlantic expanses greet you from every level of Northwind. The famous Corolla wild horses roam freely in this area of the Northern Outer Banks, and the star-filled night sky over the ocean is simply unforgettable.
