Not being familiar with the area, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the neighborhood. During a busy weekend with a local tournament, many accommodations were already booked, so I reserved this apartment. When I arrived, I realized the property felt less secure than I had expected from the listing, which made me somewhat uncomfortable.
The building is listed as non-smoking, but there was a strong marijuana odor in the hallway during the first evening. The second night it became more noticeable, and I contacted the host, who responded promptly and addressed the issue.
The bedroom blinds were damaged and there were no curtains, which allowed a lot of outside light into the room at night and made privacy feel limited. The windows and blinds also appeared quite dirty.
Temperature control was difficult. The building is older and there wasn’t a way to adjust the heat. Two fan/AC units were provided, but they were very noisy and didn’t cool the room effectively.
I was also surprised to find opened food items left in the cupboards as well as partially used toiletries in the bathroom, which I personally prefer not to see in guest accommodations.
On the positive side, the area itself was quiet and the location made it convenient to reach the places we planned to visit. Overall, it simply wasn’t the right fit for my preferences.
