6/10 Satisfaisant

We are a family of mostly older adults who stayed over Christmas. We enjoyed the ocean views from 49 Kona Lane and the local walks at Dillon Beach. The high-ceilinged main room is lovely, the beds are comfortable, and the kitchen is well-stocked. Harman was also an empathetic and responsive host. However, the house has operational shortcomings that future guests should know:Furniture: The layout is poor for socializing. The dining table only has benches (no backs), which was difficult for the older members of our group. The living room has just one linear couch bolted to the floor and zero armchairs. You cannot face each other to talk, and the TV is at an awkward angle. No Manual: The house lacks a user guide. We were left guessing how to control the heat, where to put trash/recycling, and how to use the stove.Maintenance: Our main issue was a strong smell in the master bedroom that worsened with the heavy rain. Harman sent help immediately to check for gas or mold, but the source wasn't found, and the strong smell made the room unusable.Location: Dillon Beach and the surrounding environment is beautiful but isolated. It is a 30 minute drive to groceries on narrow, unlit roads.Summary: A scenic location with a helpful host, but the house requires better seating, a manual, and maintenance to be truly comfortable.
