I will start by saying my overall experience was positive. The location cannot be beat, check in was very easy, the owner/manager(?) was very solicitous . And I would for sure recommend to some travelers. With that, there are areas that need to be addressed. First, to some the 3 flights of stairs could feel perilous. First two flights are solid but very narrow and spiral. The last flight is a bit more straight but narrow and very padded, making the steps thicker and a bit slanted downward making it feel like you could fall backwards. For younger people not an issue. Someone a bit older may have an issue with balance. And for anyone, not fun getting luggage up or down. Inside was lovely & comfortable but the rooms are quite large which made me wonder why there weren’t more or bigger surfaces in the bedrooms and primary bath. The one en suite bathroom had zero tables, surfaces or hooks. Nowhere to set or hang any toiletries. It was huge but had a tiny sink. There was room for much more but not utilized. Both bedrooms would have benefited greatly from full length mirrors. As well, for the price I paid for 1 week I’d expect all drawers to have pulls, the 2nd outdoor chair to have cushions & though the kitchen was great perhaps one roll of paper towels or a dish towel would have been nice. Some area rugs would have been nice too. Overall, these points are not deal breakers just worth mentioning. We really did enjoy our flat in Edinburgh.
