There were some odd little items missing like hand soap in the bathrooms and only one toilet roll in each room, but otherwise clean tidy. „I arrived after 5pm and had not realised Sykes cottages were dealing with the property. It took me two hours to get in because of email issues and also no one to get hold of after hours from Sykes. This needs looking into. The property itself was well worth the hassle I had been through and I will definitely go back for a second visit. It was clean and very quiet. Only issue was recycling I didn’t know what went where. Maybe a sheet telling you what to do. But apart from this would recommend.“

"Every aspect was great. Just a small trouble with unloading luggage as there is not much space to park if the spot is already taken. Also, from the hotel welcome message it feels like they will help unload luggage but you do that on your own. They have good amenities but not so easy to find information about it, like access to private beach or availability in Spa. Overall, I enjoyed the stay a lot and loved the swimming area and steam/sauna experience."

"The historic building is fabulous, the atmosphere great, it's the pole position in Windermere, great view on the lake. I wonder if it is necessary that during the summer season the building is under construction. With scaffoldings in front of the windows, some parts of the building beside the entrance in bad condition, and even a corridor we had to pass everyday was stuffed with furniture, cardboard boxes ... This is not the atmosphere for holidays. Due to repairs on some wires, the internet connection broke down every night. The location is great, but there's some work to do to bring it back to its standard. "
