This VRBO is the best yet. The owners were delightful to work with; the amenities were over the top and everything was labeled and easy to find. There is so much they offer that I've never seen before...it's like walking into your own house! We were even treated to a Charcuterie Board with individual cups filled to the brim with deliciousness! The beds were very comfy...the house was charming and very well thought out with so much character. I'd definitely return to this bungalow in Fort Atkinson!
We were headed to the Fireside for a 60's musical...so we got into the spirit by doing our hair!
Our complimentary charcuterie cups...so delightful!

If I had to sum it up in two words: WORTH IT! Words cannot describe the feeling you get inside this home. You simply have to experience it. It’s warm and fun and classy and sassy and has everything you could ever possibly think of or need at your fingertips. Every room is interesting! Not to mention all the fun stuff it has to offer. We will definitely be coming back!

This place is absolutely incredible! It has everything you need for any kind of stay you'd like to have- entertainment, spacious rooms, comfortable nooks, ect. Everything in the kitchen and other parts of the house are labeled or have instructions right by them, which made it so easy to navigate and find what you need. It was very clean and well taken care of, and the Host communicated very clearly all check in and check out instructions. The property and spaces within the house exceeded all of my expectations and we had a wonderful time staying here. I would absolutely love to stay here again sometime.

We could not have asked for a better experience. Everything was as described. The Eagles Nest and Lodge were so much fun and so well-appointed; they've thought of everything. There was more than enough of everything supplied and all was conveniently marked. Communication with Twila was excellent and prompt. The kids were 11-18 and were occupied (or snoozing) the whole time. The river was beautiful and we did just about everything: hiking, kayaking, biking, campfire and s'mores, grilling, ping pong, air hockey, darts and lots of board games. Some of the bikes were too small and most needed air in the tires (but there was a fabulous bike pump!), but that's the only thing we would have changed. Saw lots of shore birds and the morning mist on the river was magical.

This was the perfect property for our group of 12 ranging in age from 3-79 years old. There was something for everyone at this beautiful historic bungalow on the Rock River: fishing, kayaking, relaxing (indoors and out), a closet full of board games, a jukebox and game room, etc. All recreational equipment (kayaks, life jackets, bicycles, fishing poles etc) was in excellent working order. The house was amply furnished with comfortable beds, fresh linens, cozy spaces to relax, and place settings for all 12 of us!

Family getaway dream

Everything about our stay was seamless. Twila and Robert have excellent communication, answering any and all questions right away. Checkin was seamless and we were blown away at all the extras this property has. They truly go above and beyond and you can tell their love for wanting people to enjoy their stay. There was not a single thing I can think of that they could possibly add to make this property more perfect. Another fabulous weekend at the Bungalow!!

This is our 2nd time staying at the bungalow for our annual girls weekend. We cannot not say enough good things about this place, the location and the hosts. Having a place on the river was heaven! Local food and bars were just a short distance away and everyone in the town was so nice. The hosts Twila and Robert are one of a kind hosts that strive to make your stay perfection. From providing a delicious charcuterie board upon arrival to providing us with local options during our stay , they are nothing short of fantastic. Until next year!!

Riverside Getaway

Our family enjoyed our stay in this well equipped home. The owners went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Furnished us with snacks and a beautiful charcuterie board. Everything was well labeled in the home. We all enjoyed the grounds (fire pit, garage full of games, swing set, pier for fishing) It was a super hot and humid time during our stay, but the home kept us cool when we came in. The Eagles Nest Lodge (room above the garage) was a hit for the adults and kids alike. We ate a few dinners in there, played games, and hung out. I would recommend this home on the river for your stay.

If we could give 11 stars, we would! Every attention to detail was thought of. The hosts even dropped off an amazing charcuterie board on our arrival. We loved the themed rooms and historical information throughout the house. Would love to stay here again in the summer when we can take advantage of the location on the water. Our young adults loved the Eagle’s Nest and what a beautiful view!

So many options

This location provided lots of choices for activities, conversation, kitchen assists. There was something for everyone from babies through septuagenarians (we were the latter)! Indoor activities. Outdoor activities. A well equipped kitchen. Many sitting areas inside and out. The hosts were responsive to our simple request. Be sure to stop there before grocery shopping to see what "basics" are there that you won't have to buy. Be aware that there are lots of stairs.

Wonderful stay! Lots of activities!

We stayed at the bungalow when we were in town to run a 5K for a charity organization. It is a great place to stay! There are so many activities to do: ping pong, air hockey basketball, darts, playground for the kids, fishing, plus tons of board games... we didn't turn the TV on all weekend! Our kids are already asking to go back! The owners were really informative of activities and restaurants in the area. Great suggestions for dinner! Also, I mentioned I loved nachos and they sent me their recommendation for nachos with photos! The house is completely stocked with anything you could need. They also had plenty of snacks out and even a charcuterie board for us to enjoy! It was such a nice surprise. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back!

Amazing place for families and young kids!

We had an absolutely wonderful time at this property! The host were wonderful and communicative and they even had a whole charcuterie board ready for us when we arrived. We were there with some toddlers and they had an absolute blast. The property is really set up very well for kids. They had pack and plays more toys than you can imagine a crib, a toddler bed and an outdoor playset. The host were extremely kind and gave us great recommendations and had the place all set up and ready for our kids. It was also very, very clean and well organized. They have everything you could possibly need. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Beautiful, fully-stocked lake house for families

Really appreciated not having to travel with kid/baby, kitchen, or beach stuff. Beautiful place and very well-stocked with all you could need. Enjoyed kayaking and canoeing in a peaceful area.

Great Family Rental

Great property on the water. Have never been to a rental that had everything - kitchen was fully equipped, kayaks, canoe, ping pong, video games, basketball game, fire pit, numerous locations to hang out - inside and out! The home was spotless. The hosts responded immediately to any questions, provided local recommendations and even checked in with us to be sure all was going well. They also provided a really special treat for our arrival! I give them an A+++.

50th wedding anniversary

We arrived at this beautiful bungalow that had so many rooms and so many neat spaces that we were so excited to explore and enjoy, the rest of our family came to visit for a few hours, and we were all together. We had a wonderful meal and great pictures and shared great memories. We had a great time. It was a perfect weekend that will remember forever

Wonderful

The bungalow is so thought out and well cared for. It has nearly every amenity, labels and instructions everywhere. Our group of 11 adults enjoyed a lot of time in the eagles best lodge. The river levels were at record highs so unfortunately we didn’t get the opportunity to use the canoe and kayaks. Everyone said their beds were comfy and showers were very nice. The homeowners were easy to reach by text and checked several times to make sure we had everything we needed. I would recommend this to anyone!
