We took the chance on a new listing without reviews and are happy we did. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit at Bluebell Cottage. From the time we walked in, we felt at home. It was just like the pictures, colorful, clean and bright, with the Ware River in the backyard and cornfields across the road. For us it was almost destination in itself. Our 11 year old woke early to fish and crab off the dock. We made s’mores that Amanda left for us over the fire pit. It was nice sitting on the dock chairs because there is always a breeze. Gloucester has quaint Main Street with shops and restaurants. We visited the Williamsburg area as well as some sandy municipal beaches. The cottage has all the basics and more stashed in the many closets and drawers. It’s freshly painted and many items are new. The kitchen has everything - various serving dishes and cookware options plus spices, oil, flour etc. We especially appreciated the car vacuum, beach towels, the soaps and fluffy towels provided in each of the 3 bathrooms, and the seating in each bedroom. The tiled no-curb handicap shower is spacious and located in the queenfull bedroom, which also has an exterior entrance. There is a step down to the Q room. The pullout beds are in the den and adjoining game room. (Fyi, no hanging closets in there or in the QF bedroom.)There was plenty of space and seating areas to relax and be together -or apart- for our 8 person-4 generations traveling together. It was a great time!
