We stayed for a week. So much to do so much fun. The kids never wanted to leave the property. We swam with manatees, paddleboarded, kayaked, fished ,crabbed, went boat riding, ate only one night out at the Margaritta Grill..it is a must do. And came home exhausted, but so full of memeories made! Justin is amazing and so very nice, the house is in a perfect spot even for 4th of july crowds. Thank you for sharing your home!
Very comfortable and spacious for larger groups or families. The view and location are excellent. We enjoyed kayaking to the spring which is right around the corner and enjoying local restaurants by boat. Justin was very helpful and easy to contact and the house was clean and tidy. Would definitely stay again.
The house and property were very clean and well kept. There was plenty of room for our party of 9 and lots of great space. The host was super easy to get in touch with and very helpful throughout the entire process. We brought our boat for scalloping and kept it at the dock behind the house. Worked out great. Highly recommend this property and will be staying here again in the future.
The house was clean , and check in and out was an easy. The home owner was very helpful with questions . The kayaks and paddle boards were so nice to explore we seen Dolphins and manatees . The only complaints we had about the house itâs a little outdate, only 2 showers was a challenge with a large family, but we made it work , over all we had a great stay .
House was beautiful and accommodating, my family had a blast swimming in the river and using the paddle boards and kayaks. Looking forward to booking again in the future.
Beautiful property for a mini vacay. Fun stuff for all ages. Very enjoyable and tranquil to go kayaking on the river. We saw manatees in the spring, which was the highlight for me, especially this time of year when there are a lot less in the area. Amazing experience to watch them swimming next to our kayaks. Good communication and contact with the property owner.
Beautiful property with tons of room for our entire family to spread out and be comfortable!!
Absolutely amazing location, activities for the kids were greatâŠ.. ping pong, foosball, heated pool with so many pool toys & floats, kayaks & stand up paddle boards for the older kids and adults!!!
We loved kitchen spices and cooking supplies
We didnât have to buy salt & pepper OR aluminum foil LOL, funny but hugh plus!!!
Justin was very easy to get a hold of and knowledgeable of the area, answered all my questions! Highly recommend this property!!!
This was our second stay, we love this house! The location on the river is perfect, the home is so spacious and always clean. Everyone has their own space and room to spread out. We enjoyed watching the manatees swimming right by the dock! The host is extremely friendly and responsive, we will definitely be staying again soon.
This vacation was just what we needed! It was absolutely amazing. We saw soo many manatees from the back dock! The owner was absolutely amazing with communication! Would definitely book again!
My wife & I wanted to take 3 of our younger grandkids to see old Florida. We were 3 adults and 3 kids. We had a great time. The Kayaks were a great amenity as you are right on the river. We had a cold snap that brought Manatees back into the river which was great for the kids & their moms.
The house is big and sprawling. Having only 2 full baths was not as challenging as we feared. You have a tub shower, a tub and a shower so you have to schedule but what helps is 3 half baths.
The only negative is 2 bedrooms have spot coolers in them that are quite noisy. This was a surprise but in March it is not as big a deal if it was August.
The kitchen worked although some of the appliances are old. We did eat a couple of meals at the house.
The pool was heated and the grandkids loved it and got in it most days. We also used the fire pit a couple of nights.
I canât say enough great things about this place. It is huge which was key because we were a big group and having a second living area space and large dining room kept me from murdering a nephew who watched TV the entire trip. Kayaking around with manatees off the back deck was so incredible. Even my 78 year old mother who is afraid of the water did it and it was the hi-light of the trip for her. You can walk to the nature preserve. There were birds everywhere. Great restaurants nearby. The layout is a little quirky and because itâs so big people couldnât figure out where their rooms were the first day but they are all well labeled after Gillianâs Island characters so you just had to find your name. We went to Miami for the second half of our trip and I wonât go back but I would love to go back to Homosassa with a group of friends. The property manager was fantastic and helped us trouble shoot things with the pool despite the fact that we were there over Christmas. Iâve done a lot of VRBOâs and this is my favorite so far!
We really enjoyed our stay! We had 4 families and we were not crammed in. Every bed was taken and all weâre comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked. My only complaint was there was only one extra garbage bag left but we had brought extra to take out in the boat so we were fine. We are hoping to go back next year as this is an annual event for us. Our annual family vacation involves 3 generations (ages 24-89). This house was perfect for us â plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, lots of parking, and great spaces for dining, socializing and games. We had a rowdy ping pong tournament while others swam in the pool or worked on a jigsaw puzzle.
The house was super clean, very spacious and comfortable. Yes the layout is quirky. So what? The property manager was immediately available and responsive.
We taught the youngest family members all about Gilligan. We kayaked and we enjoyed watching the âboat showâ through the big picture windows. We will be back!
We loved staying here. We used the â3 hour tourâ theme and since there were 7 of us we all dressed as the cast from Gilliganâs Island. We worked with Island Girl Cruises and my motherâs assisted living center and had the boat pull up to the dock with mom and other residents. We surprised mom by being dressed up as the cast from Gilliganâs Island and Island Girl Cruises playing the theme song from the show. Mom said it was one of the best days of her life!
Pros - Everything! Host and property managers are the best. Rooms are spacious, beds and pillows are comfortable, kitchen was very well stocked, pool was great, ping pong table was a hit. Loved the firepit and dock and other amenities. Best location in Homosassa.!
You wonât be disappointed!
Cons - None it is definitely a five star property!
Booked a week in advance for a quick trip get away and was so so worth it! Place was very roomy yet cozy for the whole crew to feel close with each other! The house lay out is fun and the location is unmatched. We are boaters and fit 2 24â Bay Boatâs out back and loved how convenient the spring location is. We really could of just swam off the dock to the spring, no boat needed! Will book again!

Excellent vacation property for large family gathering
The location was perfect for viewing marine life and relaxing. Our children had fun outside and the indoor playroom was a bonus.
The house was meticulously cleaned throughout. Kitchen is well stocked with utensils.
Make sure you know the tide conditions as we could not easily access the water due to low water.
I feel conflicted even writing this review because a big part of me wants to keep Gingerâs place a secret!
My boyfriend & I stayed at the house with 6 friends and had a delightful time. This was a return trip to Homosassa for us - we visited the springs to see manatees a year ago (just the two of us), and became determined to find a place directly on the river for our next visit.
Gingerâs house was perfect. The location, combined with the kayaks and paddle boards allowed everyone to go out exploring on their own schedule.
Those of us who were early risers enjoyed coffee on the dock while the birds hunted and squabbled over fish. There is so much wildlife in the area - just snorkeling off the dock we spotted not just manatees, but long-nosed gar, many schools of fish, diving cormorants, turtles, and even a stingray!
Although we didnât swim in the pool, the screened-in patio surrounding it was excellent for drying out swim suits, wetsuits, and water shoes.
The worst thing I can say about the house was that it has more light switches than any other home Iâve ever stayed in. Which was mildly stressful when trying to turn off lights before bed.
Thank you so much, Ginger for hosting us! If we return to Homosassa again someday, your place will be at the top of our list.
We had a wonderful time this past weekend at this property! The location, fabulous, the space, fabulous, the amenities, fabulous. We had two families, so 8 total, and there was more than enough space! We parked our boat trailer there with plenty of room. The dock space was great. The screened in back porch and pool were a hit with the kids, as was the ping pong table, kayaks and SUP!
We cooked while we were there and there was everything we needed to cook and eat!
You are on the river with a canal in front of the house and the kids had the absolute best time going around that canal!
Would highly recommend the property and will definitely stay again!
If you enjoy watching manatees during Florida winters, there is no better place to be. Kayaks are provided and manatees are everywhere. Don't miss out on one of natures wonders in a roomy setting right on the river with a personal dock and boat rental nearby.
