Our family of 4 (2 teenagers) stayed for a couple of days between Christmas and New Year. The first thing that stood out was how welcoming and Christmassy the house felt. The house was decorated throughout with fun and cozy Christmas decor and it really helped to extend our Christmas spirit! Our hosts also thoughtfully left some Christmas sweet treats for us to enjoy (which we did - thank you). Beyond that, the house was incredibly well-appointed, with everything you could hope for in the kitchen and games galore for our family to enjoy. The welcome book contained a helpful guide to the house and surrounding area. It was a short 5 minute walk to the lake and the local shops were about a 15 minute drive away. Our hosts were very communicative and check-in was super easy. The only negative was that the couches smelled really strongly of fabric scented spray - probably because this is a dog-friendly rental which is understandable. We would love to return and spend more time exploring in warmer months and we would highly recommend this house to anyone looking to explore Lake Cushman.

House is amazing and beautifully decorated, including a huge Xmas tree. Well-stocked kitchen plus wonderful amenities and extras you'd find in a luxury hotel. The gameroom offers so many options, plus a separate living space. Great host communication. We loved this place and hope to stay here again.

We had a wonderful time at this property! Our annual mushroom hunting trip to the area. You can tell the host took time to decorate the place, lots of big and small details that remind you of home. Beds were pretty comfortable. Decent size kitchen, lots of entertainment inside if the weather happens to be not great… but we spent most of our time outside. Looks like recently renovated house. Walking to the lake was super easy (although we hike a lot, so cannot speak for everyone), but it’s really a very minor slope walk about 5 mins from the house. And the lake was all ours for many hours, we literally did not meet a single person on our trip to the lake on a Saturday morning! Had an excellent time with our dog swimming in Lake Cushman! Warm water even though it’s the end of September. Recommend the place! I wish we could stay longer next time!

We had a great stay at Lake Cushman. Check in was easy. Grilling on the deck was great and we loved the lake and the clean beachfront and community lake access. Our kids loved jumping off the floating dock and kayaking. Since it’s a 5 min walk from the house I was grateful for the bathrooms by the shoreline. This house has a ton of beds which helped our families spread out and find the right configuration for our multigenerational vacation. Hosts were responsive.

Best Place Ever

The view was amazing!! The location of lake is so close and having the kayaks available was perfect! This place has everything we needed for the adults, kids, and baby. We are already planning the next trip. This peaceful and relaxing trip was much needed

Great getaway

The host was so kind and thoughtful in our messaging and in the property set up. My family (two adults, 5yr, 3yr, 2yr, and 4 mo) and our friends (two adults, 2yr, 1yr) stayed for 4nights. The property was perfect with multiple baby gates, lots of toys for a lot of ages, and some baby gear (playpen and such). Although there isn’t much yard space, it was still perfect for the kids. The walk down to the lake was only about 7-10 minutes… or you could just drive for maybe 2 minutes. The only thing I’d have to say be prepared for is the mattresses.. oh man! The kids didn’t complain about their beds but oh man all the adults were stiff after 4 nights. But honestly it was an amazing house to stay at.

Awesome stay!

It was a beautiful home with everything we needed. It rained but the house was equipped with so many things for the kids to play with, and even kids' utensils and plates made it easy for us. The beds were comfy, the house was clean and the host had great communication. Will definitely come back!

Relaxing Stay by the Lake

This summer we wanted to book a comfy lakeside home we could use as a "basecamp" for outdoorsy fun and this listing absolutely delivered on that dream! The house was extremely comfortable for multiple adults and pups, had many amenities, and was situated in a quiet, wooded neighborhood. Being so close to the Olympic National Forest meant access to plenty of diverse hiking trails while still being close enough to Hoodsport to make grocery shopping and an evening eating out quick! Our hosts were also very communicative giving us plenty of heads up on what to expect when we stayed on the property and clear instructions for checking in and out. Highly recommend this listing!

Lake getaway

Stayed 3 nights, enjoyed the closeness to the lake, kayaks, paddle board, barbecue, fire pit. Was very quiet, we were there during weekdays, House was spacious enough for 8 people, played a board game one night and a movie night. This getaway was much needed for everyone, I will stay here again. Thank you

Beautiful home, great location

This is a beautiful home very close to a variety of activities. Plenty of space for a family to spread out, or get comfortable together. Easy check-in and great communication. Nice that we had access to TV, Netflix etc. Perhaps because we went off-season but a few things fell a bit short for me. First there was no propane for the grill and the grill looked like it hadn't been used for a while (needs cleaning). The host did offer to reimburse us if we went to get the tank refilled. The outdoor firepit was awesome, but had a dozen or so cigarette butts in it - not very appetizing to toast s'mores. Check-out was more stressful for me than usual because we learned after booking that the expectation is that you not only start the towel load wash, but you need to wait until it completes and start the dryer. I have no problem starting a load of wash, but having to wait for it to complete (and not knowing how long that would be) was no fun. Again the home is beautiful but for what we paid I was a bit disappointed with these shortfalls. Good news is should be easy to fix.

Awesome getaway location

House is incredible, as pictured. Location is awesome - we took a short walk to the lake, which was beautiful. House is situated so it feels like you're well in the forest but Hoodsport is just a short drive away. Very quiet here! Danielle was super easy to communicate with and responded very promptly, and she was exceptionally gracious when we had car trouble trying to leave. Could not ask for a better host! Would definitely rent again!

Beautiful location

We enjoyed our stay. We had small children in our group so we bought an adjustable baby gate for the top of the stairs which we left there in case you are in the same situation. Lovely, quiet neighborhood. Small store close by, but went to Shelton for most of our groceries--about a 25 minute drive. Lake Cushman just gorgeous!
