Upon arrival to the apartment, we immediately smelled cigarette smoke throughout. We then saw cockroaches running around in the kitchen and other rooms, it was a terrible experience. Additionally this apartment had only one fork two spoons and two glasses and only a handful of kitchen items. We contacted the host and they offered us a second apartment that we could have instead. When we got into that apartment it also smelled like smoke and was not thoroughly cleaned. We had to clean it ourselves in order to be able to stay there. Additionally, the second apartment had a queen size bed, instead of the king bed that we booked. We went back to look at the details of the booking, including the pictures and noticed that the pictures that we had seen were of a different apartment not the apartment that we booked. It was falsely advertised by Vrbo. We contacted the Host asking for compensation of at least a refund of one night and all of the host fees. They told us to contact VRBO and that they would deal with you instead of dealing with me directly. I would like a phone call from a Vrbo representative to work through this so that we can get our refund for such a falsely advertised dirty apartment in Houston.
