Everything was absolutely wonderful. The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do. Local restaurants, beach and intercostal area for the small children. The accommodations were also absolutely what we were looking for. They provided a large family area, separation so people could have their own private space, go for a bike ride or just hang out in the yard.

My family and I enjoyed our time here in the Outer Banks. The location of this property is great because it's close to the beach and restaurants and has enough parking for the family. We loved the front porch and the access to the Blackstone and the beach toys, chairs, beach cart. We didn't get to use the bikes as much but it was great to have the option. The washer/dryer was awesome to have and we used it all week. Another highlight for us was the Nintendo 64 downstairs. We got to play our childhood games and it was really fun to reminisce together. Some things we noticed was the overall cleanliness of the home. The bathrooms and the bedrooms were clean enough with fresh sheets, towels, and bathroom amenities. The places that need a through cleaning were the vents, walls, and floor throughout the entire home. When we walked around barefoot, our feet would be black from the floors. The air vents were covered in dust, and the walls had visible fingerprints and dust on them. Secondly, the kitchen had little space for us to put our own food for the week. There was old spices and food that other people left from past visits that took up the majority of the space. Overall, we really did enjoy our time here but to ensure that the next families visiting have an even better time, we wanted to pass on the things we discovered.

Our family consisted of my husband and I, our two grown children and their spouses, and three grandchildren in the six to eleven age range. Your house was a wonderful place to stay and enjoy each other. It was exceptionally clean, the beds were comfortable, it was stocked with plenty of board games and other amenities that came in very handy. Location wise, it was perfect with easy access to local, and not so local places. It had plenty of grocery stores nearby, and the kitchen was well stocked to do a lot of home meals.Correspondence was great, and all of my questions were answered quickly. I would highly recommend this house to anyone!!

Short get away

We chose to stay in the outer banks as it was one of my brother’s favorite places. We were just there for the weekend to remember him. Lauralee was super responsive and so easy to work with. The house is plenty big enough for everyone to have their space. Lots of amenities and close to the ocean and sound.

We stayed a week in February as a family and had a wonderful bonding experience. The house was spacious and having a split level for the kids to get away by themselves was a welcome feature. There were MANY amenities that you would otherwise have to transport yourself if you stayed anywhere else - beach chairs, beach wagon, bikes, kayaks, etc. We loved the proximity to the beach in this quiet neighborhood. The property was extremely close to grocery stores, restaurants, and kid-friendly activities - putt putt golf, sugar planet, go karts, and more. We definitely recommend this property for those looking for family time near the beach with many plusses on top ot that.

Great place

It was spacious with room to spare! Host was attentive and easy to work with. Everything you need is at the house. We wish it wasn’t raining so we could’ve made use of the bikes, hammocks and hot tub. We would definitely stay here again.

Great beach getaway for a big family

We stayed at this property for three nights - 4 adults and 5 kids ages 5 through 12. The location felt safe and was close to everything. The yard was great! Had all the amenities we could have hoped for - the only thing we wished we had was firewood. The owner responded quickly and was very helpful and kind. We would visit again.

Back Yard Oasis

I love the beach! Something about the air just makes life better. The outdoor space was amazing the only thing that would make it better would be a pool but hey the seating, fireplace, hammocks, and hot tub were awesome. It was a great way to start and end our days. We loved that we were able to use the bikes around the neighborhood that was so much fun. The welcome basket was a nice touch. And oh the water pressure in the showers phenomenal. Now that Ive let you know all of the great things I hate doing this but we did have a few flaws. It was a bit musty when we walked in we had to leave the windows open to get some fresh air, It wasn't so terrible while we were in it but it definitely hit you whenever we left and came back in. At home we have black out curtains and I didn't realize how much I would miss those, but it did help to get us up early enough to enjoy the sunrises. The listing tells you not to log out of the streaming services, however it seemed the previous tenants had done so, which was a bit annoying. There are also board games, we tried playing mouse trap but some pieces were missing ;( so that was a bust. But Dude overall I would say it was an 8 out of 10. If you need the space it is there! Its a great place to enjoy the beach and time with your loved ones.

I have it an5 because it’s as advertised and because the owner is a good communicator. There are lots of rules, lots and lots which weigh on you when staying there. I understand it’s their home which is why I kept it at a 5 but rules take the level of relaxation out of things when I have a handful of lengthy emails to follow. Good amenities although our stay was too short to take advantage of the bikes and such. the previous guest signed out of the tv apps and that wasn’t caught before check in

A week in Serenity House OBX

Wonderful homey feel to Serenity House with beautiful amenities. The backyard is just paradise with the hot tub, fire pit and swings. The owner is very good about communicating. We absolutely loved our stay.

Sweet Sweet Serenity

Lauralee was so helpful. Provided very helpful information for local businesses and places to visit eliminating the hassle of trying to figure it out on our own. Our visit was during Hurricane Debbie, and not only did Lauralee notify us of where emergency items were in the house, she had crews come out to ensure the property was safe and secure. She was also quick to have a maintenance worker come fix an appliance so that we weren’t inconvenienced, and ensured we were ok with the worker stopping by before just sending someone. Overall it was an excellent stay and we would recommend Serenity to our friends and others.

Everything was as described. We were actually able to check in a little early because house was ready and owner notified us to come on and enjoy. Only problem was the dryer must need a heating element as it took 3 cycles to dry our towels

Great OBX beach house

The house is laid out nicely with plenty of space and has a good backyard with a very nice hot tub. The beach is walkable about 10-15 minutes. We liked the close proximity to many places. Would definitely consider rebooking.

Wonderful stay

Home felt like “home”.Great central location and house was very clean. Plenty of bedrooms for everyone.Nice cold AC which is wonderful for the hot summer months.Our older kids-the young adults had the basement area, so it was basically like their little own apartment down there.The garage had everything that we needed for the beach like chairs, a cooler,wagon, bicycles,so there was no need to haul extra things in our vehicle on the way down.It was about a 20-25 minute walk to Target and the beach access. The backyard was so cute!Excellent communication from the host and we really appreciated all of the recommendations on things to do and places to eat!

We enjoyed our stay. Nice amenities - updated backyard, hot tub. Recommend darking curtains for bedrooms. Bugs bag outside during our stay. Maybe use bug service or provide deterent for bugs!

Perfect spot for an Outer Banks getaway!

Serenity did not fall short of its name! In town for the OBX Bike Week, a serene reprieve is a must after long days of riding and this home away from home was just that! First of all, location is vital, located right in the heart of the outer banks visiting north or south bound was a breeze. And after a day of touring the islands a clean and comfortable place to land for the night is what is needed for the mind and body. Serenity was spotless and stocked with everything one could need when on vacation from crisp linens and towels to relaxing spaces to unwind. And the layout of the house is perfect for more than one family. I would recommend this OBX home away from home for everyone and give it 5 stars all the way around!
