Pleasant Thanksgiving

The house was a great place to host friends and family for Thanksgiving. Large entertaining space and large kitchen made it very easy for friends and family to move around and not have to be in separate rooms on Thanksgiving Day.

I had a great time with my Adult children and grandchildren. The house was great you could all be together or you had separate spaces if you didn’t. I would rent again. Perfect location, the road was a little busy. Short walk to the ocean.

Our family reunion was so much more enjoyable by being able to all stay together. Southern Paws was exactly as described in the VRBO app. It was clean, with a well stocked kitchen,close to the beach and restaurants . The beds were so comfortable and the rec room was awesome for the teenagers in our group!We had an issue with the pool on the 1 st day of our vacation. The property manager responded quickly to my message and had the problem fixed that day, despite it being a Sunday.We would definitely rent this beautiful home again!

Wonderful Family Trip!

The walk to the beach wasn't too far and the beach on our side of the pier was much less crowded. The house accommodated our large group of 5 families and allowed for a great week of celebration of our dad's 80th as well as some other celebrations! We loved walking next door for coffee, ice cream & the escape room & even though it's not on the ocean, we could see the ocean from the upper levels of the house which just added to our enjoyment of the space! I would recommend this house for any large group or family group!

From the moment we checked in, til we we checked out we were extremely satisfied with the rental The location was perfect for us, it was close to the beach for morning sunrises and close to Corolla for the wild horses tour. We have no complaints about the house, it was clean and exactly like the pictures. We enjoyed the theater room and game room every day, It was a great family vacation! We would 100% rent Southern Paws and use Coastal Realty agsin.

Southern Paws

The house overall was perfect size with plenty of room to spread out for our large family. We loved everything about it except the way the yard is set up, when we got heavy rains it all ran into the pool and we were unable to use it the last two days of our trip. The pool company was amazing and did all they could to help us but said it was unsafe to swim in because of all the yard debris and chemicals they had to use. Other than that when we could use the pool it was perfect!

Family Fun

The property was wonderful with one exception! The road noise and traffic. It was extremely difficult to enter the highway from this location. The house is beautiful and totally furnished with all you need. We had ample space but the road noise caused most of us to use the back bedrooms versus the front. The grandchildren loved the play areas, rec room, theater room and of course the pool. We would stay here again, if the house were elsewhere.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great week at Southern Paws.The roomy house was clean and well appointed for our family of eight adults and ten children. The pool and game room were a hit. The beach access was a short walk down the road and we found drivers very considerate when crossing. You’ll want a parent with the kids, but you would anyway at the beach. Southern Paws is separated by large bushes from a nearby area with restaurants and ice cream establishments among others but still felt quite private to us. Definitely a great choice for our OBX vacation!

Game room was used often. However, the main refrigerator had no door shelves so we had to empty the interior shelves looking for anything we needed. There was a missing drawer in the kitchen, not ideal with a toddler . House was incredibly dirty! Dog hair on the babies binky every time it hit the floor. Your feet were black by the end of the night.all the fans in the bedrooms could only be run on lowest setting due to the shaking and loud noise they made. Recycling container outside and outside garbage was still full from the last guest so we had little room to place our garbage .

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Southern Paws was a great vacation rental. The house was ready early (an added plus) and extremely clean! We have always wanted to stay in Southern Shores due to close proximity to crossing the Wright Bridge. We found the location very centrally located for journeys north and south. I was concerned about the traffic on the beach road since this rental is located across the road but found that motorists stop at the crosswalks to allow safe crossing. We had two dogs with us and the fenced dog area was an added plus! The Theater Room was great fun for Family Movie Night too. Beach Realty responded to all texts for maintenance. We had a big storm on Monday afternoon that turned flooded the pool and turned it green. They sent a pool tech the next morning to “fix” it. My only suggestion - longer summer hours for the Realtor all days of the week or someone who monitors texts and responds after hours for needs like our pool issue. We were concerned the problem would damage the pump as no water was entering or leaving the pool but the pump was still attempting to run. This rental had everything we needed for a wonderful beach week! We would love to rent it again but it is going to be managed by a different realtor and pricing is increasing too much.

House was very nice and clean. We vacuumed and swept daily also to help out with the sand, which is unavoidable. Overall, everyone had a great time and pretty much spent most of the days at the beach, which is just a short walk. Though traffic is heavy, drivers always stopped to let us cross at the crosswalk. Great family vacation

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A great house for a large family. There are thirteen of us and there was plenty of room for everyone. A very convenient location as there is a pizza shop, an ice cream shop and a restaurant right behind it. The pool was a blessing when it got too hot at the beach and the game room came in handy when it was too hot to sit by the pool. We’d recommend this house for a large group.
