The downstairs suite was one of those places that makes you appreciate the difference between "clean" and "updated." To be fair, it was clean—no complaints there. Unfortunately, it looked like the condition had never been considered an important feature. The space feels less like a vacation rental and more like a master class in maximizing rental income while minimizing renovation expenses. Every corner seemed to whisper, "If it isn't completely broken, we're not replacing it." Or…even supplying it: no cutting board and minimal utensils and kitchen tools. The owners have clearly discovered a fascinating business model: collect modern rental rates while maintaining or updating surroundings at no apparent cost. It's almost impressive from an efficiency standpoint. You may likely get a message (right after the time you can cancel without penalty) to “please excuse” some unfinished repair. Ours was the lack of drywall behind the washer/dryer.Owners were very responsive to questions and issues, but a more detailed booklet of instructions might be handier. In summary, if you're looking for a clean place to sleep and don't mind surroundings that are worn and low quality, you won’t mind this listing taking creative license with the title "Hideaway Haven.” It’s just not a positive thing to be commenting as you leave, “I’ve seen worse.”
