As others have mentioned there are steep stairs down to the dock and up to the master bedroom loft, but that didn't bother us. The water is about 5.5' deep off the dock and we swam every day. « This cabin was tucked away from the main road, giving a good balance of privacy and easy accessibility to lots of hiking options. Check in was super easy, the kitchen was easy to cook in, and while small, the shower offered great water pressure from its wide shower head. « Cozy, cute, comfy, private, and tranquil indeed. Didn’t want to stay in busy Lake Placid, which was not too far for me. The sauna and hot tub were a huge plus. 5 stars for two nights. If more nights, it probably would be a 4 star for me because it was not really roomy for me, a big guy. The host communicated and responded well. You can use hosts’ two small kayaks and enjoy paddling in Mirror Lake! »

Be careful on the stairs - especially in sock feet - I’m 5’5” and was fine, my 6’6” husband was also fine but went up on all fours. Which was a laugh to see.
