Wonderful Vacation!

We loved our stay! The main house is immaculate, the grounds are beautiful and we had a great time swimming and enjoying the fire pit. While it was cloudy all week, we still loved watching the sun go down from the dock.

Beautiful property

Spectacular water views, great pool (spent a lot of time here due to 95-100 heat all week - awesome AC) and hottub, very well outfitted kitchen, comfortable beds, very private and quiet. Great family memories made by crabbing from the dock and eating our catch! Enjoyed the kayaks the first 2 days before it got too hot. Also enjoyed the the frogs, skinks, dragonflies, bluebirds, and especially the turtles (shared some watermelon with one!) Relaxed, memorable family vacation. Jack is the best host we've ever had - lots of helpful, accurate info and excellent, timely responses.

Great Stay!!

We had a wonderful 8 night stay at Jack’s place. The home was spotless upon arrival - great job by cleaning team! Jack deserves the full 5 star rating we gave him. He truly cares about making this rental a 5 star stay for his renters. We loved the pool, spa and waterfront setting! Having a dock and being able to go crabbing was a treat! We had two dinners of delicious crabs! We appreciate him allowing our “boys” (dogs) to join us. Even though the weather did not cooperate for most of the week, we still had a fabulous time. We would love to stay longer next time! Thank you, Jack!!

5-Star Stay at a Magnificent Riverfront Property!

We had an incredible stay at this beautiful VRBO home! The property itself is nothing short of stunning, with a magnificent view of the river that we enjoyed every morning. The pool was fabulous, perfect for relaxing and having fun with our family. The house was extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean, and fully equipped with everything we needed for a perfect vacation. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, making it feel like a true home away from home. There were plenty of fun and interesting things to do in the area, from scenic walks along the bay to local attractions, including the fascinating history of the St. Mary's area, that kept us entertained. Fishing, crabbing, kayaking and enjoying the sunset on the dock made this a most memorable vacation. A huge shoutout to our host, who went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing experience. He was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed to feel right at home. We highly recommend this property and can't wait to return!

River Paradise

We have been renting properties since our children were adults. This is by far the best property and host that we experienced. The pictures don’t do the property justice. It is so beautiful and such a peaceful area. Jack is a wonderful host and always available should you have any problems. We took our jet skis and for the most part had the whole river to ourselves. I highly recommend this property.

Family Getaway

We celebrated our 40th anniversary this year and decided to take our family on a special vacation to mark the occasion. My husband and I, our three adult children, their spouses, seven-year-old grandchild, and one small pup had a great time at Holly Knoll. We rented the house and the boat loft. There was plenty of room for everyone to gather together, but also spaces to go to get away from it all. The pool was a favorite spot! The dock was a great place to sit and enjoy the sunsets. Everything was very clean, and the kitchen was stocked with everything you could need. Jack, the host, was very responsive. We had a great week!

A bit of paradise in Maryland

Our vacation was wonderful. The house is perfect for us, our adult children, and our grandchildren. Our grandchildren loved being in the pool. The property is beautiful. Such a great spot!

Wonderful place to spend a week with family. Beautiful pool and hot tub and knock-out, gorgeous view from yard and dock. Fenced Yard is dog friendly which is such a plus and house has literally everything you could need. The River is full of wildlife and beautiful sunsets. Already booked next year!

Amazing

Such an amazing property! Property owner is prompt to respond. The house is exceptionally clean. The view of the river is gorgeous. We spent most of our time at the pool, on the dock, and kayaking. Plenty of great restaurants nearby(owner gave great suggestions). Will book again

Woods and the Bay

This was our second visit to Holly Knoll. It is very pleasant and peaceful, with well maintained grounds {with pool) on greater Chesapeak bay and a large comfortable house. Even though the host does not live nearby, he was always available and responsive. We are hoping to have our entire family there next year, As an aside, since there is no other way to give feedback to VRBO, I wish that they would not require entries for which I had no basis for opinion (in this case, "accuracy of listing"0

Enchanting Waterfront Escape: A Return to Holly Knoll Exceeds Expectations!

As return guests, we can confidently say that Holly Knoll keeps getting better! Our previous stays were incredible, but this time was even more special. One of the most impressive updates was how skillfully Jack opened up the waterfront view without removing too many trees. This thoughtful approach not only preserved the natural beauty of the surroundings but also enhanced our experience with breathtaking views of the water. Jack’s attention to detail and dedication to maintaining the property’s charm is evident. The interior was as cozy and inviting as we remembered, and the addition of new amenities (including the larger TV and additional seating) added to the overall comfort of our stay. The salt water pool and private dock continued to be a highlight of our vacation, providing a perfect oasis for relaxation and fun. Once again, Jack’s hospitality was second to none. He was always available to ensure we had everything we needed and went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. Holly Knoll has become our go-to retreat, and we can’t wait to be back again next year! Thank you, Jack, for making our time at Holly Knoll so memorable.

We didn't want to leave!

What a wonderful place to stay. The house was very spacious and comfortable with lots of little touches like games, flashlights, stuff for a fire. The kitchen was superb, and we made great meal. The outside was amazing! From the family room you could see the garden and St Mary's River with pier. As a gardener, I loved the landscaping. The pool and hut tub really made it a paradise. Even with the rainy weather, we managed to use the pool except for one day. The dogs loved the fenced in yard. Our family loved it and hope to rent again next year.

Great house; Amazing yard

The home is clean, spacious and well stocked. We spent some time sight seeing in the area but always left room in each day to enjoy the spa, pool, yard and dock. Like many others before us, being surrounded by nature, enjoying the amazing view and just spending time together relaxing in the yard, pool, spa were the highlight of our trip! Highly recommend!

Perfect place for our family vacation

The house is so warm and welcoming we really could not think of anything more that they could have provided. The pool was beautiful, we couldn’t keep our daughter out of it or the sauna. Our son and his wife fished off the dock and kayaked the days away. Close to other activities and yet feel like you are in your own paradise. Loved it
