The hotel is well located, a stone's throw from Hyde Park, not far from nice neighbourhoods such as Mayfair or Notting Hill. There's potential.
We've booked the superior double room for 4 nights. When we checked in, it took a while and there was a discussion between the receptionists regarding our room - we couldn't understand what they were talking about, since they didn't discuss in english, but that's when we were alarmed that something might be off.
When we arrived at the room and looked around, it was clear what their discussion have been about:
They downgraded us from superior room to cosy room, without telling us nor offering any discount or anything. On top of that, the windows were covered with paper because of the ongoing renovation of the hotel. Renovation per se wouldn't have been a problem, as long as we weren't directly affected. The website did say that the renovations should be finished by end of 2025 (We stayed there late January 2026). So, receiving a downgrade by paying the higher price AND being not able to look outside the window due to the renovation-cover is a no go.
When we mentioned these issues at the reception, they told us the booking came as is from Expedia (cosy room instead of the superior room). So easily blaming Expedia, but when asked for a print out or any proof or handout, they refused since "not allowed to", and left us without any solution. The window issue was not tackled at all.
Can't recommend this hotel's policy/management.
