The unit was clean and spacious but it took us over an hour to access it. The deadbolt of the first door was completely jammed. 4 adults attempted to unlock the door unsuccessfully. I also could not call the lift to the 12th floor. This left me in a panic as we were stuck on the 12th floor with multiple pieces of luggage and unable to access the room or get down 12 flights of stairs.
I emailed multiple times requesting a call and help and was told no one could call my international number. I had to use the emergency stairs to exit and find a local business willing to let me use a local phone to call the host. I then suggested WhatsApp which successfully connected us via to text. During the course of the hour, I was asked to send multiple pictures/videos of the keys and lifts not working? Finally, after well over an hour of communication, I was notified of a second door in another hall to enter the apartment. The key worked fine on that second door.
Once inside the room, we were able to unlock the first door from the inside and confirm the key works, but the lock jams and it is impossible to unlock consistently from the outside. We were also never able to get the elevator to work properly to get down and had to use the emergency stairs to catch the lift from the 11th floor each time to exit.
No apologies, no compensations, and no response from the management company was received for this major inconvenience. I cannot recommend given poor and inaccessible communication.
