The house was right on the beach and looked exactly like the pictures. This was the perfect beach vacation. Being able to step off the deck onto the sand literally felt like never leaving the beach the entire trip. The place was relaxing and peaceful and I cannot wait to go back.

Location was great- right on the beach. Pics on VRBO dont capture the poor quality of this unit. Steep stairs lead to a unit that is very poorly maintained. Furniture and bedding are old and stained. Sliding glass door is rotted and close to non functional- decking and exterior stairs are old, splintered and warped. AC ran constantly to marginally maintain cooling and produced a musty odor that clung to our clothes even after returning home- we just reeked- beach access was great- unit needs a good hurricane to wash it into the gulf.

Thank you for allowing us to stay at your property. Overall my family very much enjoyed our stay. The only thing i wish i knew is the alunt of stairs. They were a bit difficult for me to use as i hv severe back problems and knee issues, but nonetheless we made it work. We will definitely be back!!

They location is wonderful RIGHT ON the beach amazing view and NOT crowded. Outside upper deck chairs need to be replaced on broke on my husband when he sat down. The beach chairs have cracks in them but other than that it is a great place and location!!! Would stay there again.

Good location

It was the perfect location, right on the beach. My only complaint would be the parking situation was very tight. The inside of the place was clean, but definitely need to clean up the outside of the property.

The smell hits you as soon as you open the door. The stairs are absolutely grueling. The furniture was old and stained. Had to sit on towels. Disgusting. It was easy to see from the beach since it was the ugliest townhomes there. If I owned these I'd be embarrassed to admit it. The only thing to do is tear them down and rebuild. Just awful!!!

Beautiful and perfect location on the beach

The beach access was perfect, rooms were clean and the master view is breathtaking! Having a house compared to A room is so helpful. The station across the street was handy for anything we forgot. It's quiet, peaceful and totally relaxing with Crystal clear water and just the right amount of sunshine. We watched dolphins off the balcony and even saw a shark near the shoreline. It was a wonderful experience and we WILL be back. Thank you so much for this opportunity

Beautiful Location and Perfect for Families!

This is our second time staying at a Sticks in the Sand unit. We came here again because the view is amazing, the beach is right out the backdoor, it is quiet, and we love the Whale's Tail! This is a great unit for a family. It was so nice having the bunk beds and extra bathrooms. The kitchen was the perfect size, but if you are coming here to cook and not eat out, the utensils and pots/pans are very old, scratched up, and quite honestly, very gross to cook with. The grill outside was awesome and we used that a lot! The beach closet had a ton of toys and chairs so you really don't need to bring anything but an umbrella.The master bed was very uncomfortable but overall the house was clean upon arrival!

Great location

Location was great! Had a mishap of someone parking in our spot (parking is extremely tight. I would suggest one vehicle if possible.) It was a Saturday and the owner was prompt on getting the vehicle moved. The town house is spilt up into two buildings instead of one large town house but we didn’t mind. One room had bunk beds and a single bed which was extremely convenient. The view from the master bedroom is spectacular. The master bed is hard but it’s sleepable and honestly we were there for the beach not the bed. This town house could use some updates but you can’t beat the location or the quick response of the owner.

Solid but unspectacular condo. No perks except for the location and private beach access. We never had to fight for a spot on the beach. The listing was accurate. The place could use some updating with better couches, beds, and mattresses. A couple minor annoyences like the grill isn't really maintained well, a broken patio chair, smelly washing machine, and a squeaky ceiling fan. The owner and maintenance was prompt with communication and offering to fix when i brought someone to their attention. Overall you won't be dissatisfied if youre looking for a beacfront condo on the cheaper side on scenic gulf drive.

This rental is in a great location and has a great view, but the unit needs a complete overhaul. There is black mold in the A/C which I'm highly allergic to and has cause me to have a very nasty infection. The unit was dirty and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages. The livingroom furniture is outdated, smells, and questionable. The master bed was broken (support) and the mattress sagged. We couldn't even sleep in the bed. Half the lights were out and the A/C was insufficient to cool the upper storey of the unit. Oh, and the kicker is, the unit is so nasty, we ended up with Scabies (probably from the nasty furniture). So yea, we have to go to get medication for that. I could list more, but I'll stop here.I will never stay here again. I hate leaving bad reviews, and this is the first bad review I've ever had to leave for a VRBO and we stay in VRBOs everywhere we go.

This property gets 3 stars only because of its location. It is right on the beach with direct access to the beach. 2 balconies over looking the beach. You get to wake up to the beach everyday. The Whales Tale being within a short walk and the gas station across the street was awesome too. The property manager was responsive and communicated promptly.Outside of those pluses we got what we paid for and really cant complain. For 1200sqft right on the beach 9 nights for 2000 is a steal.The maintainance of the place is poor. Full of "landlord specials".... lol. The place definitely has a moisture problem. There is a strong smell of musty mildew throughout the place that hits you everytime you open a cabinet or drawer. We did what we could with lysol and air freshener. The floors made my kids feet turn black from dirt. The furniture should be burnt and replaced. Its old and grimey. The decks are in ok condition. The place could use some updated TVs and some rokus or something for them. The internet was 40-50mbps. I didn't even know you could buy speeds that slow anymore. All that being said. I am not complaining. We got what we paid for. It was a fair price for the place and we spent everyday on the beach, swimming, playing, fishing, etc. We ate at the Whales Tale several times. We had a great time. We especially liked that all the beach toys and stuff from previous guests was left at the bottom of the decks free for the picking. (Thats not sarcasm). We would stay again.

The location of this townhome is amazing! Literally you are steps to the beach and it’s fantastic! We felt safe letting the kids go down alone. For what you pay this place needs a lot of updating. Peeling paint on all the cabinets, duct tape on the transition piece into one of the bathrooms, rotting wood around the door frames. The touches other condos have this place does not and you pay the same price. I’m sure being that close to the water things are damp a lot, but the mildew smell was very strong for me. They only have one trash bag for you and one roll of paper towels and toilet paper so bring yours from home. We won’t stay here again.

We arrived exhausted, expecting to see a beautiful condo like was shown on the web! Instead, the place was dirty and smelled. We had to go get cleaning supplies. We used bleach wipes on the stair rails because they were sticky. The furniture was old and smelled. The towels smelled awful. We had to wash them before we could use them. Chair on the balcony had the seat busted out and the railings on the outside were rotten. The bright sunny description on the web was definitely misleading as were the pics of the condo period. We will not stay there again.😡 couldn't sit in it. smelled.

Fantastic Beach

This location is amazing and the private beach was fantastic. We could walk down the stairs and be watching dolphins within seconds. The sand was great and the beach really wasn't crowded. House was a little dated, not bad at all but when you look at the other properties around these townhomes you realize it but I think that is more the area around them is updating and renovating bc big money is moving in. Everything was great though. Wish I would've read the description a little better and realized that we only had use of the top half of the unit and there were people below. Parking was a little rough - but completely explained in the description and reviews. Being directly on the beach leaves little room for parking and it's a tight squeeze to fit so many people in one small area. The only issue we had was when new renters arrived from other units and didn't understand it yet. It really wasn't a big issue though and totally worth the view. Everything was communicated really well and we didn't have any issues getting in, understanding the property and rules. We'd definitely rent from them again.
