« First impression of the hotel at check-in was exceptional- Stephen was very welcoming and friendly, and we knew it was going to be an incredible stay! In fact, encounters with the staff from bartender, restaurant and housekeeping were all friendly, engaging, and positive. « We came back late from a long walk in the Lakes and realize arriving in our room that they gave us a room with no blind or curtain !!!! We rang the Reception at 11pm they said someone was coming but nobody showed up. The following morning when we wanted to record a formal claim the receptionist just told us "sorry" It is a shame !!! Avoid this hotel ! You pay a high rate for the location but the rest is shameful !! »

« Very pleasant stay. Food offerings not as good as I had hoped, especially in the Grill. Disappointed that the restaurant was closed on Monday and Tuesday but afternoon tea was good. Staff attentive and rooms clean. Lovely setting. »

« In general this was a great hotel in a really good location. The room was in good condition and the breakfast was great. There were some noticeable areas within the hotel which good do with some further maintenance effort. For example unpainted areas of the outdoor seating at the front of the hotel and the patio/garden area immediately outside our room. Improving these finishes with a little extra effort would really take the hotel up a level. »

« All good, nice clean room, good selection of beers and wine, decent area outside if weather permits, and a very enjoyable meal in the evening. The village itself is very quiet, but would certainly recommend if looking for an overnight stay to break up a journey north or south. »

« This is a lovely property conveniently located on a hill overlooking Keswick and near the many attractions in and around Keswick. Our room was substantial with a comfortable bed and sitting area. Breakfast was tasty and varied, eagerly accommodating a special request. The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. Definitely recommend and would stay here again on a return visit. »
