This is my first negative review on VRBO. Woo hoo!
The good news is that the back deck is a stone's throw to the Atlantic.
The bad news is that the house is poorly maintained and the property manager (Vacasa) was unable or unwilling to address the issues we encountered. A quick breakdown:
- the oven never worked - we notified Vacasa on day one and they sent out two repairmen but ultimately never resolved it and never offered a discount our assistance in any way
- the refrigerator kept throwing a breaker - we eventually got it working by not using some of the lights
-one of the deck chairs was broken and unusable - we requested another several times and never heard from vacasa
-contacted vacasa about a broken step but they never addressed it
-asked vacasa to relocate us due to the numerous issues but they refused
-i really cannot overstate how poorly Vacasa's customer service was - we reached out many times in the first few days and they did next to nothing other than send auto responses swearing our stay was their highest priority...lol
In addition, the overall comfort of the beds, the lack of cleanliness and musty, pet smells, etc. made this potentially charming house a bit of a dud. Vacasa's awful customer service made it worse. I would strongly advise not renting from Vacasa properties if possible.
So, if you are looking for a cheap, dumpy beach house, it was just that. Honestly, it's a shame because the location is quite magical, but I'll pay extra to avoid Vacasa and to get the basic amenities described in the property posting.
