This is my second year staying in this fabulous little cottage south of the Domain. An excellent option if youâre visiting the University of the South: stay there for a week or for more than a month as I did, choose it as your base from which to visit the campus or to celebrate the beginning or ending of an academic career. The environment is beautiful; peaceful & quiet. The cottage has everything youâll need. I canât say enough good things about this property.
I've stayed at this groovy little cottage a couple of times and I've already booked it for future visits to Sewanee. It is less than 5 miles from campus and completely cozy.
This is my 5th or 6th time staying in the cottage. Could not be more perfect for an individual or couple. Everything you need... especially the quiet!!! WIFI works great, all the kitchen supplies you need, a short drive to Sewanee, Monteagle, and great midway spot for day trips to Nashville or Chattanooga.
What a special place!! I stayed with just myself and my dog and it was exactly what we wanted. I needed to be near Sewanee for a writing program and this charming cottage nestled in a wooded area on a quiet road was conveniently located. The cottage itself is immaculate: very well maintained, perfectly set up & equipped with everything youâll need.
Thereâs a fenced in backyard and a spacious covered porch. The owner, who lives nearby, is responsive, helpful and kind. It was just perfect.
We love the location. The cottage was clean, fully furnished, comfortable, and shaded well. The dog pen off the living room was fully enjoyed by our small dog Maggie. The owners were friendly and helpful.
This place is special! It has everything you want for an individual retreat or a small family vacation! Location is perfect for Sewanee, Monteagle, half way between Nashville and Chattanooga. The cottage will continue to be the only place Iâll stay when visiting the area! Fantastic, responsive owners!
Lovely little cottage situated near a bluff on the Cumberland Plateau about 4 miles from the town of Sewanee. Quiet and peaceful wooded location. Nice break from the heat and humidity of the Gulf Coast. Would definitely visit again.
Loved being able to have my own space with my doggie. Sue was so kind to bring veggies from her garden. The place was so comfortable and clean. Air felt so nice. I would wake up in the morning, put on hot water, and sit outside in the fence staring at the trees swimming in greens within greens while Myles sauntered his puffy butt cheeks around sniffing and pooping. Then Iâd go on campus and inhale the Gothic architecture and think and write. Immaculate vibes.
Another stay in this fantastic cottage! Everything you could want for an individual retreat, couples retreat, or even a small family. Close to the campus, Monteagle, Cowan/Winchester/Dechard. Easy drive to Nashville or Chattanooga. Quiet, with all the amenities one needs. Cannot recommended enough. I will be back!!!
The cottage was perfect for our anniversary weekend getaway. The cottage was well appointed and Sue did a great communicating with us providing suggestions in the area and tips for our stay. She even left us flowers on the kitchen table.
We will be back.
This is the perfect stay for anyone looking to spend time on the mountain or take day trips off the domain. Itâs close to everything in Sewanee and Monteagle. Gracious host. Everything you need. Comfy bed. Great kitchen with all the necessary utensils. Very quiet! AC worked great for the hot summer. Really doesnât get much better. Perfect place for a couple or family with small children.
Beautiful little cottage with everything we needed. We just moved to Tennessee and needed a place to stay before closing on our house. Owner was super sweet, everything was perfect.
We enjoyed the cottage. It was perfect for two people. It was close to Sewanee making it easy to drive back and forth to campus. The host was very friendly and accommodating, even providing my husband with a book on goats when she learned he was interested in getting some.
This lovely cottage was exactly as presented. It is warm and cozy. It is tucked into the woods on a pretty property surrounded by lawn and gardens. The four mile drive to Sewanee is a peaceful tree lined country road. We will be back!
The house was VERY clean, well stocked, and in a great location. We had everything we needed for a great long weekend. Sue was an excellent host and was very helpful directing us when we got there in the dark. We look forward to returning!
