Water at the end of Hill St. is clear, no muck or weeds, sand/pebble mixture, turning into all sand lakefront bottom with sandbar for a good 100' out for tying off inner tubes to just relax and float in the sun. Water shoes still recommended.

Restaurants, stores, gas and bars within 1-20 miles from cottage. Lincoln, Alpena, Harrisville, & Ossineke are all within a 15–20-minute drive.
