Thank you John, yes in winter linen has to be ordered (Mid Sept-APril). And when booking if you only book for 2 people and require a king bed then that is what will be made up and the 2nd bedroom will will left without linen to keep it fresh. Thank you

Thank you for your review the broadband is now fixed as due to covid there was a delay which is why I provided a TP link temporary during your stay. Also it would have been helpful to know about the shower & BBQ during your stay. They are also now fixed too. I’m sorry the deposit is out of my hands as VRBO/homeaway deal with that side. Thanks Jayne for your honest review. I wish you had called me as the instructions for putting the water on is in the information folder but I could have explained that you just flick the switch on. Also the large radiator in the back room is on a timer but you can over ride it by flicking the switch from timed to on. We stayed the week before you and also had a wonderful time but we were not cold as had all three radiators on. Thank you for the heads up about the crockery I noticed it too and it’s being replaced this week. We hope you will stay again and thank you for taking care of our holiday home. The £50 goes straight to the cleaner in st Ives they are quite expensive but they have to cover their costs as the work is so seasonal, and unemployment is high due to there being very little work in the winter. Thank you again and we hope you visit again soon.

I have been waiting for this review as the guest threatened me with it unless I paid them back their money, through many messages. As I was travelling I asked the guests to contact the housekeeper if there were any problems. They didn’t they just left the property. I received a message from them saying that they didn’t want to stay at Driftwood & her husband was allergic to mould spores and there was mould in the bathroom and in 1 of the bedrooms. It has been very damp so I’ll immediatly alerted the housekeeper who went straight away to see, she said it was a very small problem that could be put right. I was so concerned I drove 5 hours to the property and asked the housekeeper not to touch anything. There was 2 small marks on the bathroom sealent, which we have now replaced. In the bedroom there was some mould in the very corner of the window and at the top with some very light spreading on to the wall measuring 15cm by 20cm . The photos you providing were enlarged so I thought the problem was bigger. In one corner down by the bed which is not easily seen there was some mould measuring 0.4mm by 0.5mm. I offered you a full cleaning and a refund of the cost of a clean but you refused and wanted the full weeks cost back . I am sorry your husband is highly allergic to mould and I explained Cornwall is very damp and at this time of year there would be mould spores naturally in the air everywhere and outside. We apologised profusely. The property looks lovely and we thank you for highlighting this so we could put it right. I did suggest you claim on your travel insurance and in future please let property owners know of his condition, as we want your stay to be perfect. Regarding the views we have had lots of compliments as you will see in other reviews, but it is always down to personal opinion. I am very sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay but you can’t expect us to refund you with such a small problem that was put right in 20 minutes.

Please see details on the listing of Driftwood is not basic. The photos are a representative of our lovely holiday home. Driftwood is very private, it is a maisonette so you don't get the general public walking by, the patio is walled and our neighbours are very considerate. There are 23 steps up and this is stated in the description. The pillows & duvets were replaced in April and have been checked and are clean. Cutlery & washing up brush has already been replaced & and the shower curtain that had some slight marks on the bottom thank you for letting us know. The BBQ was empty and there is a special tray that is clean in the cupboard that you put over the top of the rack, if you had just called to say there was a problem I could have told you about this. No promise of bedding change mid week on our listing -this was never agreed and I have checked our conversation and it was definitely not promised at any point. Thank you for letting us know about the lampshades being dusty these are very high up so difficult to reach but I will make sure they are cleaned. I really wished you contacted me during the stay instead of after so we could put anything and everything right for you and these are the conditions about leaving an honest review in that you contact the owner as soon as you are aware of any problem to give them the chance to put it right.

Thank you 1st rate guests too! St Ives is very hilly! But stunning views :) 90% of properties are reached by hill climb. Great to keep you fit after those pasties!
