You'll love spending your next Steamboat Springs vacation in this beautiful mountainside condo! When you're not out hiking, skiing, or snowboarding with ski-in/ski-out access to Steamboat Ski Resort, you'll have plenty of room to spread out in an open, light-filled living space that's full of western character. The full kitchen has all of the essential appliances, cookware, and gadgets you need to prepare delicious meals, with a shared gas grill available on the grounds for barbecues with loved ones. Sit down to eat at the circular dining table or on the stools at the breakfast bar, and bring your dessert and coffee outside to the private balcony. At night, you can soak in the community's shared hot tub, light a fire in the gas-powered fireplace, or enjoy a good movie on the mounted flatscreen TV as you curl up on the leather sofa.
The Ptarmigan House Condominiums enjoy a ski-in/ski-out location just south of Gondola Square, allowing you to stroll (or ski) to the main base area at Steamboat Ski Resort each morning to hop on board the gondola or the Christie Peak Express. On the grounds of Ptarmigan House, you'll have access to a community outdoor hot tub to soothe your legs after a day of skiing, as well as a shared gas grill for afternoon barbecues all summer.
Steamboat Ski Resort is immediately north of this complex, offering 18 lifts, 169 trails, and 2,965 skiable acres across Mt. Werner, Sunshine Peak, Storm Peak, Thunderhead Peak, Pioneer Ridge, and Christie Peak. After a day of skiing or snowboarding, you can soak in one of the area's famous hot springs, which include the Old Town Hot Springs (three miles northwest) and Strawberry Park Natural Hot Springs (10 miles north), both of which are open in summer as well. Spend a day snowshoeing, cross-country skiing at the Haymaker Nordic Center (two miles south), or perusing the charming shops, restaurants, and galleries that await in downtown Steamboat Springs (three miles northwest).
In the warmer months, Steamboat Ski Resort transforms into a hub of hiking and mountain biking, with 30 miles of cross-country mountain bike and multi-use trails on Mt. Werner alone. Take a scenic gondola ride, tee off at the Haymaker Golf Course (two miles south), or book an excursion with Steamboat Zipline Adventures (six miles south). You'll be less than a mile from an access point to the Yampa River Core Trail, a 7.5-mile paved, multi-use trail that runs along the river to the heart of downtown, allowing you to stop mid-way to explore the Yampa River Botanic Park with its beautiful ponds and sculptures.
THINGS TO KNOW This property does not accept or participate in sports team events and/or discounts. The Ptarmigan House hot tub closure begins 10/1/21. The hot tubs will reopen at the beginning of ski season. In accordance with HOA policies, please note we do not accept Emotional Support Animals of any kind. We do accept Service Animals. With the exception of authorized Service Animals, no other animals or pets of any kind are permitted at the Property. You also agree that we cannot and do not guarantee that no animals have been in the Property prior to your use or that the Property is free of animal or pet allergens, even if the Property listing states that pets are prohibited or includes a similar description.
Parking notes: There is free parking available for 1 vehicle.
Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit. More information can be downloaded from the "Rental Agreement" on the checkout page.
Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 21 years of age to book. Guests under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

Great time in Steamboat
This place was the best! From the moment we arrived, we felt like we picked the best place to stay. Ryan (the property manager) was the best! He stayed late the day we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed and to go over the property.
We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the condo and hot tube. The pictures made the room and hot tube seem small, but they were more than adequate. We were also grateful for the free shuttle service provided by VACASA and the locker storage for skis and snowboards.
We will definitely stay here again.

Nice and easy
Everything was just fine. It’s a nice apartment, looks recently renovated, under a minute walk (or ski) to/from the slopes just a bit uphill of the gondola entrance. And a few minutes walk to a small market. Kitchen looked well equipped though we didn’t cook. There was a pack of coffee for each day of our stay with a few packs of powder creamer. Very comfy couch and bed (though the linens were a bit scratchy). There’s a ski locker with 2 keys, indoor garage in the building, and super nice and helpful reception people. We had a great stay.

Great place -fantastic location
We knew this property as we had stayed there 10 or so years ago. We arrived on Christmas so there wasn’t anyone to check us in. The instructions could have been clearer about finding the lockbox. It also took a few tries to get in touch with someone to give me the code to the lockbox.

This one-bedroom unit is beautifully laid out. You will love it!
All the furnishings are comfortable, and tasteful. The kitchen is done in an attractive, up-to-date European-style layout with unique space-saving features. The cookware supply is plentiful and new. The mattress is comfortable and the bath is very well-designed for its smallish space. A small deck off the living room faces Southwest to catch the afternoon sun. Perfect!

Lovely condo in Steamboat
We’ve stayed at many places in Steamboat Springs, this was by far the nicest. A tastefully renovated, very spacious, and very clean condo, with a kitchen well stocked, and extra bedding and linens available. Right on the free shuttle bus line and close to gondola square. We’d definitely stay here again.

Hot tub closed
We book our vacation homes based on hot tub and master bedroom bed size. We were highly disappointed to learn that the hot tub was closed secondary to COVID. This would have been helpful to know from the listing as there are plenty of updates regarding fees and other requirements on there. Please do not list an amenity if it is not available. Offering to transfer to another property or offering passes to the springs is not the same as having an on-site tub, and both options require work from the renters. I consider this false advertisement and am severely disappointed in Vacasa for not managing this better.

Location Matters!
We enjoyed staying in this condo. The view isn't great, but the location is incredible. Wild Plum grocery is within walking distance. The included shuttle service is fast and available to go just about anywhere between town and private residences on Mt Warner. The condo is definitely ski-in-ski-out. In fact, it's almost TOO close to the gondola, LOL. By the time you strap in and ride down, you may as well have walked. Total first world problem! I kid... but it really is super close to the gondola. We had a bunch of family staying between this condo, One Steamboat Place, the Sheridan, Steamboat Grand, and Torian Plum – all easily walkable. I would recommend this condo to anyone who plans to utilize the mountain and needs connectivity around the mountain, both on/off the slopes. The condo has renovated kitchen and bath. We did not use the hot tub, but it has also been recently renovated. In fact, we were told the entire exterior was recently renovated, but it was hard to tell with all the SNOW!

Place was as advertised. Very nice with updated appliances. Plenty of space to sleep up to 4 guests comfortably. Spacious private balcony. Unit is a short walking distance to the gondola. Great location!
