The listing says "Luxury Home"... it's pretty run down to be luxury? But I've been in the Luxury Hotel industry for many years, so my expectations might be too high?
That said, upon check in, we found the property very dirty. I.e. Old food in the sink, sticky floors in the bedrooms, blood stains on one of the mattress covers, mold on the shower curtain and the previous guests linens were piled up on the table. Additionally, we noticed several areas on the ceiling indicating leak issues. Upon calling the property management company, the response received was deeply disappointing? I understand that they deal with a ton of calls similar to mine, but I was very surprised that there was ZERO empathy. In fact, they seemed completely unconcerned. "Would you like us to send housekeeping back out?"
Over half way into our stay, the ceiling began leaking. We called to report the issue around 6PM, maintenance came out the following day around noon. They were very friendly and incredibly empathetic. We agreed to stop using the particular shower that was causing this issue.
Proactive Vacations clearly doesn't need our business and I get that... But at least pretend to care?
At the end of the day, we had a fantastic week!!!! :) Because you just can't have a bad week at the beach, right!!!! :)
