Gave us the wrong unit number thus delaying our check-in by almost one hour by the time we figured out the correct unit number. This happened on our wedding day and at the worst possible time. It caused us to be late to our own wedding.
Check-in should be immediate, as all you need is the unit number and door code. But they advertised the wrong unit number. The host had zero sympathy for the huge inconvenience they caused on our wedding day, trying to blame us for not understanding their incorrect and inconsistent webpage and messaging. The webpage said one number and their instruction email had a different number (didnt say unit or apartment, etc), and also didnt make clear the # was even part of the address.
Also the unit listing and booking webpage said this is for 4th floor. So we were expecting 4th floor, with 4th floor views. However we got a lower floor.
The host acknowledged their mistake (while also trying to blame VRBO), but it's the owner who makes the listing, not VRBO. They did offer an insincere apology, while also trying to blame us for misunderstanding their mistake. And they offered no reimbursement for the false advertisement or the gross inconvenience they caused.
If something goes wrong with your booking, don't expect an easy time resolving it with the host/owner.
Overall we didnt get what was advertised, and it caused a horrible delay and experience on one of the most important days of our lives.
