I had called around lunchtime asking about a late check-in policy. We were going to be delayed arriving due to some issues with our trailer, and I wanted to be sure that there would be no problem checking in late. I was assured there wouldn't be. By the time I had gotten there, my room was given away. I said that I called and was told checking in late wouldn't be an issue, and he told me that it wasn't him I spoke to. He offered no other solutions, and honestly didn't seen to care. I had reserved the room for the weekend months prior, because I know how hard it is to find a room in the late summer. After over 20 hours on the road, my boyfriend and I slept in our truck.

Over good place for location and price

Towels could have better in quality and a few more bath towels since there was 4 of us. What's the point of having special directions on website if motel never even read them. Requested for more pillows and had to go ask front office for more

Paid for a room I didn’t stay in, refund refused

I had reserved a room at the Aspen Motor Inn for 11/24/2017. Just before 7:00 pm, I received a call from a woman, asking when I would be checking in. I told her we were a few hours away. She rudely informed me that they close at 11:00 pm. That information was not provided during my booking. We rushed there and arrived at 10:30 pm. However, the addresss I received in my confirmation email was not the actual address of the hotel. I drove up and down the street for ten minutes where Google Maps said the location should be. I called at 10:33 and no one picked up. So I found new accommodations down the street at the Lakeside Hotel. Twenty minutes later, as we were taking our bags to our room, a woman called from the Aspen Motor Inn to ask if we were still driving around looking for their location. I told her no, I had found other accommodations. She told me to make sure to call my booking agency and let them know I hadn’t checked in or there would be a penalty. In the morning, I drove down to find the Aspen Motor Inn and discovered it purely by accident, three blocks away from the address I was given. At 8:30 am, the office was still closed and I was unable to speak with anyone. I called Expedia upon my return home, but the Aspen Motor Inn denied my request for a refund. I don’t understand how they feel justified in charging me for a room I did not use when they provided an incorrect address, failed to notify me of a closing time, and did not answer my call.

The owners were very nice! We didn’t get into town until 9:30. They called us to make sure we were coming and they waited for us to arrive. The bed was not comfortable. The room and shower have a lot to be desired!

Moderate condition with great location

The furnitures are old-fashioned but everything works fine, the night there was quiet, cosy and comfortable for the price. The inn is located just 5 minutes walk from Lake Huron, and I should have been able to see the sunrise on Lake Huron if it was not raining then. Generally very satisfied.

Comfortable motel

This is a comfortable little motel, and very good for the price. The room was clean and tidy, and the gal that checked us in was friendly. There is definitely room for updates but for the price, it is most definitely not necessary. If I am in Oscoda again I will return here.

Okay for a Night or Two

We travelled to Oscoda for a wedding and spent the night at the Aspen Motor Inn. There aren't a lot of options in the town, and this, to me seemed to be one of the better ones. This is definitely a no frills hotel. The room did have a microwave, fridge and flat screen TV, and a four cup coffee maker. Even though it was a four cup machine, we were only given a one-cup bag of grounds for regular coffee. The woman who checked us in and took our key as we left in the morning was pleasant. The room, though worn a bit, was clean. This was especially appreciated in the bathroom. A couple issues I had included a pillow that was a bit on the yellow side, lamps that flickered and dimmed, and a table that wasn't attached to the base well enough so that it constantly rocked back and forth. There isn't much in town to do. We had drinks at the Edelweiss, which had decent beer. We had breakfast at a local restaurant, the Bavarian Bakery. Don't waste your time! If I were in Oscoda again, I wouldn't mind staying at the Aspen again. For a one night stay, I can deal with no frills. The price was right, it was conveniently located, and you can tell the staff works hard.

Only mlnor problem small bugs in the window by the air conditioner. Also mapquest map was wrong so finding Aspen Motor Inn was difficult.

adequate for 1 night of sleep. Old, but reasonably well kept, dust behind furniture, window curtains needed some repair. Window air conditioner, bath old but clean, only one reg. coffee pkt. -enough to make 1 cup in the morning Front desk person very nice, friendly. Thought $76.00 was a bit high for what was offered.

Small but decent for the price

Right off of the main street in Oscoda. Very close to an ice cream parlor. Short walk or drive to the lakeshore. Staff was very friendly. Accommodated our dog as advertised. They charge $15 for a pet,but considering many motels around that area don't allow them,it was worth it. It was a pleasant and quiet neighborhood where the motel is located. The room was very basic,but we had access to cable,and land line phone if needed. Bathroom was small but it didn't bother us. Beds were clean and had extra bedding had we needed it. We spent most of our time out and about so we only slept and showered at the motel,which was perfect for what we needed.

You have to be kidding me......

I have never stayed in a worse hotel. We booked a quick overnight in Oscoda (my old hometown and a special place for me) to spend a day at the beach and see what's going on in the old burg. As we were only in town for a night and really only needed a place to sleep we weren't all that picky and we were happy to have found a place for the night. What an absolute letdown as we settled into the room. It was horrible in nearly every way possible. Dirty carpet, dust in every corner, ancient broken down furniture. We paid extra for a suite so that it would have a sofa bed and instead it had a rickety old rollaway bed meaning there was no place to sit and watch tv except for two broken down waiting room style chairs. The shower was terrible, we couldn't open any windows, the bed was outstandingly awful. I honestly was at a complete loss. We decided we would suck it up and go to the beach. We really didn't have time to squabble with management and we only had to suck it up for a night but MAN what a long night. We have honestly never been happier to leave a hotel.

Only if you have to.....

It's an old motor lodge. Rooms are musty smelling, carpet is from the 40's, sticky tiles in the bathroom. Microwave that didn't work. Bed was so uncomfortable that I slept in the recliner...thank God that was there!. WIFI was a joke. The only good thing was the price and that was to high for what you get. Don't do it!

Nice local motel

We stayed in room 112 with a King bed. The bed was a plush pillow top that seemed to be memory foam. One pillow was too hard, the other too thin. But, I brought my own pillow so I was fine. The room was clean and freshly painted. The bathroom was very clean with excellent water pressure in the shower. Loved the Fridge. There are 2 bars of soap and 1 pouch of shampoo & conditioner. WIFI connection wasn't great. TV had great cable options including HBO. There is an Ice Cream shop right across the street that doubles as a BBQ place. We didn't try either. One thing to note about room 112 is that it has a connection door to room 111. And, most likely because of that door you can really hear everyone talking in room 111. Room 111 is an extra big room as it is, but there was a group of ladies having a good ole' time this weekend in 111 so needless to say we went to bed after they went to bed. LOL. Also, the room was very bright in the morning because the curtains are not room darkening at all. We hung the towels on top of the curtains because we like dark rooms. Great Location. But, MAPQUEST will take you in the wrong direction. Turn onto Huron St. (Ice Cream/BBQ on the corner) and then you'll see the hotel on the right. Corner of Huron and Lake St.

The map for the hotel is wrong, tells you it is right in town but it is about a mile or so away. Nice location, very easy to get in and out of the area. The room was clean, but had a musty smell and we couldn't get the windows open. Had a window unit for AC, mini fridge, microwave, tv/cable, and wifi (wasn't always working). Was a good hotel for a night for the price. We went on a mini vacation to play at the beach and we were only in the room long enough to sleep & shower.
