Lake Front Stay

Had a relaxing time at the Lake Front Cottege. It was so nice to wake up to see the lake every day & go kayaking when you wanted. Quiet neighbors & safe. Enjoyed patio fire at night. Clean kitchen. It has a you need in the kitchen. Has pillows& bed linens. We brought our own towels. Had dish soap, etc. Nice stay. Host was respectful & helpful

Relaxing, peaceful lake cottage

We so much enjoyed our stay at the Lake Hickory cottage. The back porch overlooking the lake with the four rocking chairs was the perfect spot to enjoy our morning coffee and evening glasses of wine. Our daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter joined us and we all enjoyed going out on the lake in the kayaks. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. We enjoyed exploring downtown Hickory, but we were always happy to get back to the peaceful lake cottage and relax with the gorgeous lake view.

Making memories of us

Enjoyed our stay at the lake house. Taylorsville is a nice quiet little town. The weather was a little cold and it rained two of our days. Would recommend to anyone staying in or near Taylorsville NC.

Best trip ever!

Sometimes when you plan a trip, you are never sure of what you are getting. Our trip to Lake Hickory Cottage was just the best. I tear up thinking of the great time we had and how convenient everything was. We loved the patio and fishing from the dock. We were able to rent a pontoon that just capped our trip off. I wish we could have stayed longer for it is certainly worth the peacefulness, rest, and relaxation we encountered and enjoyed at Lake Hickory. Thanks, VRBO for a fantastic respite.

A great location

This appears to be an older home which has been updated. It is in a beautiful area with lovely homes around it. The owner is great at communicating. Very prompt in responding. The kitchen is along one wall of the great room and the appliances are new. The bedrooms are at opposite ends of the great room and each has its own bath. The queen bedroom has a large bathroom with a washer/dryer, and the bunk bed room is small with a very small bathroom. The driveway is quite steep because the house sits at the bottom of a hill. The advantage of this is that the slope to the lake is much easier. The house sits at the end of a cove of the lake. The water there is very quiet and usually glassy-calm. We had 2 fishermen in our group and they both had a great time and caught a good amount of fish. One day, they went over to Lake Norman with a guide, and did well, but usually they just fished off the dock. This must be a hot fishing spot because we frequently saw boats close to our dock, casting toward shore. We rented a pontoon boat for a few hours from Lakeside Marina and enjoyed riding around on the lake. It is really a beautiful lake. I would recommend that. We did run into a few maintenance issues with the house, but as I mentioned, the owner is prompt with responses and assured us that a handyman would be coming out the next week. He generously compensated us for our trouble. We had a very nice relaxing week with good friends.

Girls weekend

We had an amazing experience. Perfect for a ladies get away. The house was immaculately clean and appeared exactly as listed. We played lots of card games, corn hole, and relaxed on the porch. The home was well stocked with plates, pans, etc. It was a perfect weekend getaway.

Beautiful lake house

We had an absolutely amazing time at this lake house! The property was beautiful, breathtaking! Communication with the owner was very easy and any issues we had were promptly resolved. This is exactly the quiet and peaceful week my husband and I needed. We will definitely be back and next time we will bring a boat so we can explore more of the lake. We did not want to leave! Thank you again!

Beautiful Lakefront Property in God's Country

Small but adequate home, w spectacular lakefront views. Extremely peaceful serene location except for my kids being there. Owner responsive, house could use more interior lighting. Bring insect repellant.

Very quiet and relaxing

The location of the house to the lake was perfect! No steep incline or stair workout. Unfortunately a late cold front moved in and made it difficult to fish, but with better weather this place would have been perfect. Being on a cove the occasional fishing boat would meander through to try their luck, but in general no boats were zooming around. The owner was great to respond with any concerns we had!

Great view, cozy cottage, awesome location.

Home is on a beautiful inlet with great views of ducks, heron, and fish jumping continually. Hubby enjoyed fishing from the dock and the kayak. We enjoyed kayaking around the inlet as in April the lake was not busy and very calm. Home has all the amenities you would need, simply bring some food if you desire to cook in or choose one of many restaurants in the area from casual to fancy. If you love to hike don't miss South Mountain State Park and seeing the 80 ft. waterfall. Walmart and Dollar General are convenient as well as Aldi on the way in. Puzzles and some games are provided as well as Roku for shows for quiet times.

One of the best

This has to be the best stay of all that I have been before when it comes to amenities , they have provided with everything we needed. The place and the location was beautiful. They also had kayaks which made our stay even more special. No complaints of loud music from anyone, something that we always wanted when we were on a trip. I would highly recommend this place. A big thanks to host, he was always available over chat for all the queries , the check in and check out process was very smooth. Will definitely visit the place again.

Whole peninsula to yourself!!

My family and I really enjoyed our stays at this property. It's clean, comfortable and has all that we need. We love the covered dock for fishing, the kayaks, and really nice back patio. We also appreciate the four comfortable rocking chairs, the hammock and the bevy of bedding options!. The owners of this property are very nice and easy to communicate with too. We hope to return!

Perfect family getaway

My family of 5 had a fantastic stay at this lake house. The location is incredible, w/ access to the lake just feet away. The house was very clean, in great shape, and had every accommodation we needed. Communication throughout our stay was prompt and professional. Couldn't have asked for a better experience!
