had an overall okay stay at this hotel. The exterior of the property is well maintained, and the lobby looked and smelled clean when I arrived. Check‑in was smooth, and the woman at the front desk was very kind and cordial. She did everything she could to assist me with the issue I experienced.
When I entered my room, I was initially pleased to see that it looked clean and tidy. Unfortunately, the strong smell of smoke hit me immediately, and it made me feel sick. I went downstairs to see if anything could be done, but no one was at the front desk at the time and I had plans I needed to get to. When I returned later that evening, the smell was just as strong—if not worse.
I went back to the front desk and explained the situation. I noticed the many signs around the property stating “No Smoking” and advertising nonsmoking rooms. The staff member kindly offered me a can of Glade, so I asked how much it would cost to upgrade to a nonsmoking room. That’s when she informed me that my room was a nonsmoking room.
It’s clear that someone has smoked in this room repeatedly or for an extended period of time. I’m asking that more care be taken in properly cleaning and deodorizing the rooms, and that the no‑smoking policy be enforced more seriously. This issue significantly impacted my stay and is the reason my rating is lower. I even considered booking a room elsewhere because of the smell.
I hope this feedback is taken into consideration moving forward.
