Vacances Comté de Williamsburg

This is the second time we’ve stayed at this hotel. The first time it was well enough that we came back. Melody at the front desk is fantastic. Requested a first floor room at time of booking due to recovering from a broken ankle. Melody wasn’t working when we checked in. The lady that checked us in gave us a second floor room and didn’t offer to switch us to a different size room. She didn’t get my signature, initials, car tag number nothing. She got a copy of my drivers license nothing more. Didn’t tell us pool hours, breakfast hours, checkout time or WiFi password. There are no elevators in this hotel. The room did not have an evacuation plan in case of fire or other emergency. I really don’t know how the hotel passed code inspections. When we got to the room the bathroom light would not work. We couldn’t call the front desk because the phone didn’t work. My husband went downstairs and told the lady at the desk. She said “I’ll try to get him up there to look at it tomorrow”. We used the bathroom by flashlight the entire weekend. Friday-Sunday Ice machine on second floor didn’t work. Halls smelled like marijuana. Breakfast was subpar. Juice machine only worked if you pressed the button multiple times. The lady that prepared the breakfast, cleaned etc was rude. Left a message for the manager when we checked out but it’s been 4 days and have not received a phone call.

Beautiful property and terrific amenities. The private riverside beach was nice. There are pool facilities that are clean and inviting. They also have live music at times at night with a beautifully lit entertainment area with chairs and tables. Facilities are clean, staff responsive and friendly. Ample self serve parking. Elevators for upper floors. A wonderful stay, we are return customers!
