I chose Microtel for the low price since I was asked to plan a trip for my church group and needed it to be affordable. It is definitely a $53 hotel. The bed was comfortable and our nonsmoking room was clean but smelled like cigarettes when the bathroom fan was running. Breakfast was sub par. Coffee was cold. There was major remodeling going on no one warned us about even though I called the day before to verify the reservation. We were shocked to walk in and find all the lobby tiles ripped up. On a positive note, it is a great location - close to Walmart and the Ark Encounter. Two sit down restaurants are across the street and fortunately McDonald’s is a half block away so I was able to get good coffee. The staff was very helpful and nice. It’s a budget-friendly stay which is what I was after.
