We have been visiting Wimberly for the last 10 years and this house is by far our favorite! The kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed to grill out and cook all of our meals. The house was spacious and the master bedroom was a dream.The water access was wonderful, we hung out enjoying the cool water, some fished and caught quite a few big ones! The view from the house of the river below was beautiful.Thank you for having us and we hope to be back one day.

Family Girls Weekend

We wanted a fun weekend trip to celebrate my youngest granddaughter’s 18th B-day. The thing she most wanted to do was zip line. So, she & her mom went and had an incredibly great time. Then Ella & I went in on the Square to shop. But more than all that fun day we just thoroughly enjoyed the large river house at Shade Ranch. What a magical, wonderful home! Beautiful Hill Country property!

Shade Ranch is a beautiful, peaceful, hidden getaway just a quick drive from Wimberly. The house is Texas charming and the landscaped outdoor spaces are just right for a family to gather around a fire pit or spacious table. The view of the River from the house is fabulous but the walk to the River and time spent on the River was really special. We fished the River and enjoyed the tranquility. The house was perfectly suited for a family group and so clean. We had a perfect little family birthday celebration thanks to this great property!

Wonderful river house as always

We had a great time as always. This was our third time renting this property and enjoyed it greatly. The property was clean and well stocked. Enjoyed the new big screen TVs. This property is well located on the Blanco. Even with a drought going on, the natural rock formations make a nice 4-5 ft swimming hole. We are already planning our next return. Such a great find !!

We’ve stayed in many vacation rentals and this one is definitely top 3. The real thing is even better than the pictures. Fun layout to the house. Great mix of original home, updates, decor. Very clean. Super peaceful, feels like home. The river was beautiful and private while we were there. Plenty of depth. All the supplies for cooking , bathing etc are there. (Just bring river towels. ) I’m a pretty picky renter, if you are too you will have no issues with this home. We’d rent it again in a heartbeat !

Another wonderful stay at Shade Ranch!

I think this was our 3rd stay at this property and I hope we can return again in the future. We love the stocked firepit, the beautiful landscaping, the flat game area for horseshoe or ladderball - and the waterfront area is just amazing. You have shallow water for sitting / little ones. Plus waist deep to jump-in deep water right in front of the house. It's perfect. There was a little something going on with the master shower - my husband had to clean out the tub drain for the water to properly drain and the handle was broken to turn the water on & off. Other than that, we had a wonderful time and I loved that we were able to bring our dog with us. Thank you for having us - we made so many wonderful memories here once again!

Family fun with our 3 year old's Happy Birthday!

Overall, the fabulous rental cabin on the Blanco River near Wimberley, Texas is a wonderful place to stay for those seeking a peaceful and comfortable retreat. Our family enjoyed our 3 year old's Birthday party and the river was great fun for swimming, playing on our unicorn & flamingo floats and fishing.

Absolutely Amazing

My husband and I decided to get away for the weekend. The house is on an amazing lot with a long driveway with sculpted trees. The house overlooks the water which you can hear from the living room. The house is huge and great for families. Lots of open spaces and views. The kitchen was well appointed with spices and coffee. We loved it and are already planning on going back with the kids.

Perfect family getaway

Casa Grande was perfect for our family birthday celebration of four adults and three kids. We loved the peace and quiet, access to the river and close proximity to Wimberley. The kitchen is well furnished with absolutely everything you might need including long forks for roasting marshmallows in the fire pit (so much fun!) Beds were super comfy, the house was perfectly clean and very spacious. The owners have thought of everything! We will return next spring to enjoy this remarkable place again.

Great getaway

The property was great. An older house that sits right on a cliff along the river. We went in the winter months and enjoyed the fire pit and outdoor area each night. There’s an easy path down to the river that we took our kids to throw rocks in the water. It’s also very close to the main square of Wimberley.

A wonderful time again!

This is our second time staying at the Shade Ranch, and once again it was a wonderful time. Even though it was cold and rainy the entire visit there was till plenty to do while we stayed warm and cozy indoors. We also saw so many dear this trip! A Magical Hideaway on the Most Beautiful Bend in the Blanco River

This house was the setting for the most iconic Texas Thanksgiving for our family of eight adults. The view of the Blanco river from the bluff upon which the house sits is unparalleled. It was particularly stunning with all the colors of the fall leaves! The house is extremely comfortable and well provisioned. Our only disappointment was not being able to use the fireplace in the living room, but much of the time in Texas it's too warm to care about that. We hiked, fished, played horseshoes, sat around the fire pit, grilled outside and even did a polar plunge into the river followed by a lovely soak in the hot tub. The pictures cannot capture the natural beauty of the Shade Ranch, or the authentic Central Texas charm of the house. It really is a special place to enjoy an escape with family and friends. Highly recommend!
