What a gem! This peaceful, airy home has modern amenities and finishes that compliment vs cover up its history. The home was built in 1928 and the updating has kept foundational pieces of the home intact, which makes it the best of both worlds. We, particularly, liked the spacious living room/great room, where we could all sit and read our books and had a plethora of family games. Kitchens and bathrooms had all of the fundamentals. Towels and linens were clean and ample. We visited on a rainy day, but no matter, as it's a beautiful house to stay IN. The property is gorgeous, with the sea in front and a river in the back. Unlike other past reviewers, we did not have any issues with host communication. In fact, Sweet Homes does a phenomenal job of ensuring things are in tip-top shape all-around. We will definitely try to come back here. Hosts, thank you for sharing.

This house has one of the best equipped kitchens of any place we've ever stayed. Why is that so important that I'm leading off with that? Well, we stayed over Thanksgiving where we did a lot of cooking, and the well-stocked cabinets had everything needed for food prep of all types. Other features: close proximity to the ocean, amazing view from the 2nd floor master bedroom, a cozy living room with lots of comfortable seating, and a spacious backyard with a lighted, covered picnic area and gas fire pit that we surely would have used more than one evening had the weather been more favorable (note to self: this place would make a great summer booking). There were a few maintenance issues but not enough to distract from our enjoyment. For example, the downstairs bathroom did not have locks so there were a few surprise interruptions to some of our family members engaged in their toilet activities but we worked out a system of only using one door to enter and keeping it open when not in use. I should also mention that this place is pet friendly and has a small fenced-in area immediately out back where dogs can be left unattended, provided they are not big enough to slip through the slats in the gate. The owner even provided a few amenities for the 2 pups that travelled with our family members. Best of all, nearly everyone congratulated me for finding the perfect Thanksgiving house to stay in, which made me feel good considering how much research I did before choosing this property.

The Perfect Weekend

Wow. The best weekend I have ever had on the Oregon Coast, and this house was the reason. Perfect in every way, the location, the style, the yard, the kitchen, the skylights, I hated leaving. We’re already looking forward to visiting again.

Yachats Getaway

My wife, our dogs, and I had a wonderful stay in this beautiful property. Daily walks on Stonefield Beach were amazing and different every day. This house is amazing. Clean, open, comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked and an enjoyable space to spend time together. The outdoor space is as incredible as the house. We also actually really enjoyed having our cell phones not work and having to communicate with those who needed us by text or email. We plan to stay at this lovely property again!

Celebrated my husband 65th

Located across from Stonefield Beach! This was the best thing about the house-Fabulous location- 20 mins from Yachtas and 30 mins from Florence- No lamp shades- window shades broken- And toilet seat on first floor totally broken. And door lock screwed up! Communication and customer service when we got there could of been much better. But our overall stay was very nice and we enjoyed it. We'd definitely stay here again if these things were corrected. Oh other rental next to us was very loud and screaming outside in driveway very late at night at midnight which was disturbing with lights blaring in our windows and automatic lights going on n off.

Nice Beach House

House was very nice, location great with a short walk to a fabulous beach. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the property. I do have a few suggestions however. There were no towel racks in either of the bathrooms which could be easily installed so guests do not have to hang wet towel over chairs or whatever. Also in the upstairs bathroom there was no indoor handle to get out of the bathroom which was incredibly weird. It was difficult to get out of the bathroom, This is probably mostly my fault for not reading the property description carefully enough but they also should have a washer and dryer on the property (which I assumed would be there). The nearest laundromat was 20 miles which was rather inconvenient. I tried washing a few things by hand and because it is humid by the beach it took 3 days for the clothes to dry completely.

Great property, but…

This was a terrific place to stay and the location was perfect. There are two caveats to this. The first is cell coverage which is fine as long as there is power which there wasn’t during our first morning there. Not the property’s fault, but it did cut us off completely from our family which was on the road and trying to find us. The second issue was that the well pump shut off twice on two separate nights, leaving us without water for about 10 hours each time. The manager was quick to get it fixed the next morning, but it was definitely inconvenient.

Hopefully you don't need any water, communications ability or firewood.

We stayed at this property and vacated early due to the lack of running water at the faucet and a dire need for morning coffee. Once we were back at home I wrote Sweet Homes (the company hosting this rental) and was told "As of late we have not had any issues with the water, in the event we do our maintenance team is very quick to respond." However, there is no phone service there. The wi-fi did not support my laptop's connection. There is a lovely fireplace, but the closest firewood is a 15 minute drive to town. Renter beware.
