This resort has promise but was very disappointing. Not a 4.5 or 5* resort. We had issues with our assigned rooms - dark, dirty, no towels, no soap, smelled damp /moldy. Sand was found in the bed. We complained and we were moved to a suite which was much much better but still not 4*. Beds are hard and pillows uncomfortable. Location is beautiful, but resort is spread out and you need to take the cart service everywhere. Not convenient for families with children or elderly. Pools are pleasant but food service is slow and they run out of towels quickly. Food is average - buffet and pool food is fair but not a great selection and if you have a food allergy you will need to check everything. Japanese restaurant was however excellent and the best meal we had there. This resort is definitely dated. There are better options out there - have stayed at the RIU and Barcelo and they were better. The staff here are however excellent - happy, friendly, kind and helpful. They made the vacation a very pleasant stay despite the quality of the resort.

Our stay at Pueblo Bonito was extremely disappointing from the moment we checked in. We were harassed repeatedly at check-in and throughout our stay to book excursions and spa treatments. It felt aggressive and uncomfortable, not relaxing or welcoming at all. The room was absolutely unacceptable. It smelled strongly like sewage, was visibly dirty, and had bugs smeared all over the walls. There were black, curly hairs all over the room, including on surfaces that clearly had not been cleaned properly. To make matters worse, we had to call five separate times for extra pillows, and they didn’t arrive until two days later. The pools were completely overcrowded every single day, making it nearly impossible to enjoy them. Getting a drink was a challenge due to the crowds, and when we finally did, the drinks were so bad they were essentially inedible. Overall, this was one of the worst resort experiences we’ve ever had. Poor cleanliness, constant sales pressure, overcrowding, and terrible food and drinks made this trip anything but enjoyable. We would absolutely not recommend Pueblo Bonito to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation.

We have been going to PB for the last 8 years and have loved it every time. This trip was pretty disappointing. Upon arrival and check in we were put in bldg 20 and at that time there was no hot water. The hotel knew of the problem and made no mention upon checking in. I found this disturbing, particularly since we are VIP status and in general it was discourteous. It was especially bad because we didn’t know until coming back from the gym and needed a hot shower. We were told it was to be fixed that night and next am it wasn’t. We were relocated to building 18 which was nice until the hot water went out there on our last day and right after we returned from the spa and needed to wash the oil and lotion off. The service levels have always been amazing at PB locations. This time those who were working f were terrific but it was clear that there has been a significant reduction in staff and given the hotel was pretty full, the service was not as it has been. Tables in restaurants were filled with dirty plates in the bistro and carts of dirty plates and serviceware sat next to the tables where they were seating people. It was not appetizing to say the least. I’m not a complainer and usually don’t say anything. On more than a few occasions I overheard other guests commenting on the same things re service levels. This stay bothered me so much and was disappointing for our family. I think it’s likely it is our last stay at any Pueblo Bonito properties.

It’s a magnificent location and setting! The sunsets were stunning. The staff were very helpful and kind. My only complaint would be the all inclusive food was not very good.

My family and I had a very disappointing experience at this resort over the Christmas holidays. Positives: The rooms were large, clean, and had great views. Food was good. Negatives: Unfortunately, everything else fell short. There was no hot water for more than two days, check-in took over an hour, and there were excessive lines (30+ minutes) for nearly everything—from pool lounge chairs to quick-service restaurants. Overall, the resort felt poorly managed, and it seemed like guest experience was not a priority. We will not be returning and I would strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere.

We loved our stay. The room was spacious enough for all five of us. The staff and service were excellent, especially at the Villa 26 pool. The food was great with lots of options. Wait times can be long for dinner after 7:00 pm and for breakfast after 8:30 am. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

We booked 5 days stay at this resort and left after second day. It’s dirty, no HOT water in rooms, I got bed bugs bites and horrible allergies all over my body. Had to see doctor and buy all medicine, hotel didn’t care. Food was very bad, dirty kids club with one tiny room. Our experience at this place and travelwith kids was terrible. And trying to find another hotel on Christmas Day was insane. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Not even enough words to describe how horrible it was from the beginning until we escaped this place. You can’t even walk in properly you have to wait one hour for little car to take you to the pool and one hour back, seems that nobody care.

This experience was thoroughly disappointing to the point I could not wait to leave. I wish I had known the following prior to booking an expensive stay here. First, the all inclusive is not so all inclusive as there are many extra charges for menu items, experiences, etc. The food that is included as part of the package was genuinely so bad I was shocked and restaurants were often closed at hours they should be open or out of menu items. Also please note that you cannot leave the resort without paying extra fees (to get to the main entrance and call an uber yourself). Furthermore, we had no hot water on first night and had to call the service line and front desk multiple times before they informed us that three buildings did not have any hot water that night. It took multiple requests before they agreed to move us to a new room. Our new room was unfortunately unclean (there was pube hair, a used razor top, and tiny sand bugs that infested my luggage and were all over the side of the hotel wall). The service was unfortunately not “beyond hospitality”. The lobby is filled with employees that continually barraged us to attend to timeshare presentations. All in all, if you do not mind the quality of food and amenities and prioritize drinking, this may be the resort for you. However, if you are seeking a relaxing getaway with good service and amenities, I genuinely recommend looking elsewhere.

No hot water in the room in building 21 for 5 days. Some of the staff at the Manila Bar were not very courteous. Hallways in the building where the suite was , were not clean. Not enough vegetarian options in restaurants. At the Market in the Mexican joint the lady would not oblige to send the Fajitas without the chicken on the side, that was crazy. Positives were that the property is huge and pretty awesome. Sky pool and beach very beautiful. Some restaurants like Zhao Shen were helpful and obliged to make veg food replacing meat with tofu. Food and drinks at Manila bar was good. House keeping staff were and room service was good. Overall I gave three stars because a 5 star resort can't not have hot water for 5 days straight without fixing the problem and some folks at certain bars/restaurants actual tried to boss around telling me they can't serve me while they were serving other people at the same time. Things need to get fixed and fast and folks need to learn to be impartial and provide 5 star service.
