« There was a warm welcome from the proprietor, who checked us in and showed us to our room. The tea/coffee was special with sachets of both tea and coffee from local suppliers. The Hotel has a coffee shop and all cakes, scones and bread are prepared on site. Delicious. There is an honesty bar for alcohol and other beverages on the landing. « The Royal Oak Inn is situated in a lovely area. It was easy for us to park. On arrival which was somewhat late, there was no one to look after us. I got the attention of someone in the kitchen who alerted the manager. We were given our room key and on arrival in the room I noticed that there was quite a bit of hair in the sink and some in the bathtub as well. I mentioned it to the manager and when we returned to our room after dinner, which was delicious, the hair in the sink was gone. The...

« It’s a lovely cottage which contains pretty much all you need. It’s very warm inside and there are lovely features. We were greeted with a bottle of wine, some biscuits and milk which was very thoughtful. Improvements would be that 3 people wanted a shower but the hot water ran out after 1.5 people. Also there were a few cobwebs around and it could do with a paint touch up here and there. Great value for money and we had a lovely stay. »
