« Amazing property . Loved the carved wood ceilings and wood panelled walls not to mention the secret door. Never seen so many books outside a library. unfortunately didn’t stay long enough to read any. Also a vast selection of DVDs. The communal lounge was magnificent, we didn’t use it but were very impressed. The rest of our accommodation housed everything we needed and was clean and functional. « Very nice place, we felt like at home here. Everything was clean. The apartment has everything you need, you can cook, you can relax. The town is beautiful. Shops literally across the street. Cheap parking right next to the apartment. The owners are very helpful and answer all questions very quickly. I would definitely go back to this place and I highly recommend it. « Unfortunately we were not offered the two bedroom apartment we had booked, instead we were offered a one bed apartment with a sofa bed. The sofa bed was very hard and not suitable for two people, not even children. We requested a partial refund for this and were assured we were entitled to one but this has not been received. « Very spacious flat equipped with everything you need. Only issue waz that the electric fire didnt work and no brush to be able to sweep up after walking . Shower was fab! Very central to windermere and 20 min walk to bowness . Very cosy place »

« We enjoyed the well supplied kitchen, comfortable beds. Nice working shower. The DVD movie selections added to our stay as we had time to enjoy a movie as a family on a rainy day. »

« The Retreat was the perfect place to stay in Windermere. It was stocked with everything I needed from an umbrella to salt, pepper and vegetable oil for cooking. The location was ideal. It was close to the train station and the Main Street. It was very quiet because it was on a little side street. I highly recommend it. »
