Dream house!

This house and the entire experience on Daufuskie exceeded every expectation we had prior to arrival. Everything was perfect! This house is absolutely amazing. Beautiful inside and out with every amenity you can imagine. The screened porch is so nice. We also loved the bedrooms and the open kitchen/dining room/living room, which has a really nice surround sound speaker system. TVs were great and Wi-Fi worked well throughout the house. This house is a very short walk to the melrose beach which is nice. You can also easily take a cart to virtually any location on the island. Simply put, this house was perfect and we’ll be sure to rent it again. Highly recommended!

Relaxing

Perfection! The unit was absolutely gorgeous, spacious, and clean. I wanted to move it permanently. We loved having the golf cart and being so close to the beach while still having a shaded yard. I am already planning our next trip!!

Put away your technology !

We were hesitant to book based on a few comments by friends and reading the history online. Melrose and the entire island was a step back in time and lots of family fun. Thank you to Captain Chris May River Excursions and Tour Daufuskie for the golf carts and scavenger hunt. Condo was clean and spacious for four adults and two teens. If your looking for the Four Seasons this island is not your place.

Island life

Awesome property. We would stay again. The only complaints were that we did not completely understand the food situation. It was hard to find food and I did not realize that on line orders needed to be placed a week or two in advance. There was no top sheets on the bed so the only cover was the comforter. The property was so cute and the golf cart life was something I thoroughly enjoyed.

Amazing visit

Very comfy beds. So clean and lots of room. Stayed with my fiancé and my brother and his fiancé. Felt we all had enough of our own separate spaces. Loved the back porch and that we could walk to the the beach!

A Perfect Getaway

Our experience at Ave of Oaks was outstanding. The communication about the rental and the island were spot on and clear. The home was clean, comfortable, cute, and had all the necessities. We loved the slow pace of the island and enjoyed taking walks on the beach, checking out the wildlife, talking with locals and buying their products, and exploring in our golf cart. Thank you! Fantastic visit

Everybody with the rental group was exceedingly helpful. Great communication throughout the entire process and they really helped us out when there was an issue with local transportation to the house. Super clean house with quality, comfortable furniture. Would definitely stay here again!

Cottage was beautiful, clean, and a great location. Huge bathtubs and toiletries supplied. The beds are very comfortable and the linens are luxurious. Everything you need is there. Great Spring Break Trip!

First time on the island, and, despite cooler than usual temperatures, we thoroughly enjoyed it with our four young kids. The beach was wide and empty, there was plenty of space in and around the unit to play, and we had fun exploring the island on the complimentary golf cart (saw baby goats at the farm!). The fireplace was a welcome addition for cool mornings, and there were plenty of linens. This is truly an escape destination -- laid back and quiet. Thank you for the stay!

Thanksgiving on Daufuskie!!!

We stayed at the Daufuskie Oasis Cottage over the long Thanksgiving weekend and it was fabulous. We were with family but had to continue wearing masks and keeping our distance even within our vacation cottage. The setup of the cottage with 2 master suites with their own bathrooms worked very well. Besides the great room, there was a front deck and a back screened porch so we were able to socially distance at times. Deborah and Karen were so helpful with information prior to our arrival so that we could plan our trip given COVID. We asked Beth Shipman to cook our Thanksgiving feast which was all low-country food and it was amazing! Getting to and leaving Daufuskie could have been presented many challenges because of the pandemic, but we felt very safe with all the transfers we made, getting groceries, using the golf cart. At one point, we were unable to get fresh shrimp from a vendor who comes to the island most Saturdays. Deborah offered to bring us over seafood or chicken from her own freezor. We found everyone on Daufuskie to be very low-key and very friendly. We wanted to get away to a place where we could continue to feel safe and DI was perfect. Just cannot say enough about all the people we met along the way who helped to make our short vacation and holiday wonderful. This front-line family so needed this time away and it was just terrific!

Perfect Melrose Cottage

Beautifully renovated, well-appointed and great location on Melrose Beach. Well-stocked kitchen with all the appliances you could want and very comfortable beds. Second row house with view of the water and two minute walk to the pristine beach. Comes with golf cart to explore the island. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect location, beautiful cottage!

This was our first visit to Daufuskie Island and the property manager, Deb, had thought of everything. The cottage is beautiful and just a short walk across a neighbor’s yard to the beach. The kitchen is well-equipped for any cooking we wanted to do. Beds were more comfortable than our bed at home! I highly recommend a stay in this lovely cottage!

Beautiful Home, Special Place and Community

This was our first time visiting Daufuskie Island and it won’t be our last. We were looking for a dog friendly beach, small crowds and an escape from quarantine life. We certainly found that in Daufuskie. This cottage is beautiful, clean and looks exactly like the photos portray. You are a two minute walk to the beach where our dogs had the time of their lives playing in the sand and surf. The beach is beautiful, quiet, clean and serene. Deborah (Property Manager) was so helpful and available to answer any questions from the booking process to every aspect of our stay. We couldn’t recommend Daufuskie Island and the Oasis Cottage at Melrose more.
