Second visit and a very warm welcome once again, we stayed in the main building this time, plenty of stairs to room six, but a big room with a massive bed and nice views down the high street

First time stopping in Melbourne, we were given a cottage room over the road from the pub, it had a lovely little kitchen area which was a bonus with a large fridge freezer, the room was cosy and well furnished, and even had a small courtyard out from the back door, a great spot for breakfast

Expensive but good.

Quite expensive considering the size of the room and breakfast not included. That said, bed and pillows super comfortable. We ate a late afternoon three course meal and breakfast the following day which were both excellent.

Lovely small hotel in beautiful Melbourne. Only disappointment was no breakfast served on a Monday and very little choice of a nowhere to eat on a Sunday night. The beauty of the stunning little town made up for it though.

Harpur’s of Melbourne

Lovely premier room with bath, shower, sofa and really comfy large bed! Breakfast in the restaurant was really nice and they offered a complementary drink. They also refunded the money we paid for parking in their car park. We didn’t know how this worked beforehand.

Although the room was clean, it was noisy and cold during the night. We stayed in room eight across from Harpurs hotel in the old building. Only one chair provided to sit and have a cup of tea. Breakfast was dear at £15pp on top of our hotel stay. !!!!!!! Would not stay there again.

Both rooms were very nice and spacious and clean We had a room over from the pub and was faultless while our friends had a room in the pub itself the only downside was the fact the heating wasn’t working and the staff couldn’t fix it so as you can imagine minus temperature outside and no heating inside they went downstairs to ask for help but the issue couldn’t be fixed Apart from that everything was fine and it wouldn’t put us off from staying there again

Poor for the money paid

Stayed in one of the rooms across the street from the main hotel. Room was very tight for space, small flatscreen tv on the wall was just in the way, bathroom tiny, toilet seat didn’t fit and moved when sat on, toilet roll rough and cheap, no toilet brush, carpet dirty and in need of a wash, bedside light not working, unable to open up electric window blind to allow light in. This room cost £120 for the night without breakfast. For the price and location, I feel they should charge no more than £70. Only real positive was the bar and patio area. So disappointing.

The TV didn't work, reported to staff never got resolved. The electronic blinds also never worked plus there was no desk to work on - not suitable for business purposes of which the accommodation was booked for

Not so obvious to find the hotel and hotel closed to the road, but except that the rest of the service was good. Restaurant not tested.
