„Wasn’t aware until shortly before our visit that we’d booked during the Appleby Horse Fair so following a Police advisory, they weren’t selling alcohol. Which was a shame as I like to drink local brewery beer when away, but we were allowed to bring our own bottles. In all other respects, our stay was amazing!“

„Comfortable and good food with quick service. Plenty of sockets in the room, in useful places, which is great when travelling for business and having work to do. There wasn't a desk as it was a small single room, but there was a socket, with USB charger on the wall by the bed and a cushion to use, so working sitting on the bed was comfortable and convenient.“

„The hotel is ideally situated - while not being in an immediately picturesque location, its proximity to the M6, A66 and Penrith North Lakes railway station make it the perfect base for exploring the beauty of the Lake District in one direction and Yorkshire in the other. The staff are excellent, particularly in the FYR restaurant: friendly, helpful and attentive. The food is equally impressive and the hotel itself is clean, comfortable and a pleasure to stay in. “

„The pub is situated in peaceful countryside and is in a great location. The proprietors were so welcoming and kind, helping me to my room with my luggage. My room was comfortable, nicely decorated and the bathroom clean with nice toiletries. The food in the pub was good, and the service was friendly and efficient. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and would certainly stay there again if I’m in the area.“

„We had a wonderful stay at Brooklands for the night. Our host offered us information on arrival and parking and the option to book in for breakfast. The room was very comfortable and spacious with great views. There was a good shower and plenty of towels.“
