This property was everything it said it was. It was clean, well cared for and a great fit for our family. The location was also perfect, on the beach, far enough away from the crowds but close enough to downtown if you want more to do.Our host James was great. Answered all of our questions, very responsive when we had a need and was great to work with. We will definitely consider the Salty Dog for next years trip.

The laundry was convinient, but the dryer didnt dry very effectively unless you pick the strongest setting. Communication with the host was effective and he walked me through fixing a tripped breaker after a stormy night. Some of the floors are damaged but other than that the stay was quite pleasant.

The house really had everything you need for living, cooking, cleaning, and beach fun. We stay at a lot of west end beach houses and this is easily one of the most well-equipped I e ever seen. Good layout, great location, and well worth the money. Would absolutely stay here again.

Just as described!

What an excellent property! Everything was just as described. The beach towels and toys were a nice added bonus, and you can’t beat the location. The house is located on a portion of the beach where you can’t drive, so it was very safe for kids and not crowded at all. Internet was strong in the house for those that need it, and all of the bedding and towels were comfortable. We appreciated all of the little details, and the owner was very responsive and friendly. We can’t wait to book again next summer!

We recently stayed at this beach house, and the biggest perk was undoubtedly the location—it’s directly on the beach, which was fantastic for easy access to the sand and beautiful views. Our family had some great beach days, and the proximity to the ocean was definitely the highlight of the property.However, there were some aspects of the house that could use improvement. The grounds underneath the house were very poorly maintained and overgrown, which made the downstairs area uninviting. We also found that the outdoor shower, while a nice touch, was almost unusable due to the lack of a path or even a bricked walkway to the stairs. After rinsing off the sand, you had to trudge back through the sand to get to the house, which was less than ideal.Additionally, several things didn’t match the listing’s photos. There were no hammocks as shown in the pictures, and the barbecue pit was left in an unusable state with old foil and ashes still inside. There were also broken chairs under the house, and trash scattered around the yard, which left a poor first impression.We contacted the host about the overgrown grounds, and lawn service was arranged during the middle of our stay, which we appreciated. However, the grass in some areas was waist-high, and once it was cut, it stirred up so much pollen and allergens that it made being around the area almost unbearable—even after the work was finished. Fun family get away

We had a great time. It was my family of 4, plus each kid got to bring a friend totally 6 of us. Location is excellent. It is further away from the seawall than I originally thought. Neighborhood was good. Clean, seamless check in and was a comfortable stay. Best part is it's literally on the beach, front row!

The Great and the Needs Improvement

Loved the water views and direct beachfront access. The area felt safe. Lots of space inside the house which was great. Furnishings and decorations were well appointed. Great how clean it was. Lots of windows which maximized the natural light. Plenty of dinnerware (plates), glassware and cutlery (eating utensils). Loved washer/dryer available. Loved games available, entertainment options on TV in common area and location.Needs improvement:-some areas of the kitchen flooring had blue multi-purpose tape on them to keep them together rather than repaired.-television in upstairs bunk bedroom did not work.-towel hanger in master bath needed repair.-ceiling fan in the downstairs bunk bedroom did not work.-flooding after heavy rain resulting in us trudging through standing water whenever going outside.

A true beachfront experience

This property has everything that you would expect a beach home to have. You’ll experience waves, the roar of the ocean, sand and shells, seagulls, coastal wind, and the smell of the salty air. If you are older, have trouble with knees or bring the kitchen sink with you on your vacation, the stairs are definitely not for you. There are snakes in the sand dunes, and although we did not see or experience them, it was definitely a surprise two days before our arrival that they were there. Because the house is on wooden piling you will experience “the wiggles“ overall, the property was great, perfect for what we were looking for, was well equipped, and beautifully decorated. Beds and furniture were very comfy and cozy. Highly recommend for a family getaway. Property manager James was attentive, friendly, and reassuring.

Perfect by the beach

The house was great for us, we had to sets of parents and several kids that stayed. The house was perfect - bunk room for boys and bunk room for girls. The kitchen was big enough to cook for everyone and table was nice and big as well. Beds were comfy, balcony was so perfect with chaos, and location on the beach ... can't be beat. The kids loved the skim board, boogie boards, and sand toss as well. We'll be back!

Perfect Beachfront Getaway

We get together with cousins at a beach house every year and this house has been our favorite so far! Really efficiently laid out for two families, and you really cannot beat being 10 steps from the beach! Everyone wants to come back to this house next year!
