Property had cockroaches, spiders, cobwebs, overall very dirty. There was also a very bad odor. We had planned on staying two nights. I requested a refund for the 2nd night. I was told "one cockroach did not warrant a refund for the 2nd night". Listing stated queen bed, but there was only a full bed.Cabin is located adjacent to trash compactor, which is very loud and stunk.
We enjoyed our stay and look forward to booking here again when we come back to Gatlinburg. We especially appreciate that we were able to have our dog with us.
We had a one night stay just for a cozy afternoon get away. Everything was exceptional. Very clean with no problems. There was a couple things we informed the owner about that may help with the next renter and they took care of it promptly. I would stay here multiple times. We loved it.
The home was beautiful and close to activities. Best part was it was pet friendly so my dog was able to travel with my husband and I. They have a lot of nice equipment in the kitchen. An electric fireplace in the living room and bedroom. It was a nice relaxing weekend.
The cabin was very clean, had all the amenities needed and in the best location. Only real negative is that there is a large garbage disposal behind the cabin that makes noise and attracts bears which came to close for our comfort.
Booked this cabin for three days for our 20 year anniversary. This place is not romantic. We arrived day of check in at 7:30pm. Walked into the cabin and noticed the stale cigarette smell. Both ceiling fans were running to cover up the smell. We notified the manager and left the next morning. Do not let the computer enhanced pictures fool you, this place is rundown. The rug on the floor is worn out.
List of things wrong with the cabin:
1) Stale cigarette smell- this cabin used to be a smoking cabin at one time because the smell permeates everything.
2) Shower does not roll on the tracks
3) The toilet rocks on the floor
4) it is not a queen bed it is a full bed
5) This place is just rundown
We left and checked into another hotel and our clothes and luggage reeked of that smell.
Paid over $1000.00 for one overnight. They will not refund any money. Do not reserve this place through VRBO. Do a walk through before spending that type of money
Game room too small to actually play
Jacuzzi tub had been broke previously
There is no private pool
Place was clean and quaint
Good location ; easy to navigate
Overall summary of this property is very positive:
Pros: very clean throughout
Everything worked as it is supposed to
Bed was very comfortable
Bed linens were clean
Hot tub was clean and hot
We saw a bear in the back yard!!
Location was wonderful. It is not up some long twisty road
Cons: the garbage compactor for the facility can be heard in the cabin.
There is a musty type smell in the cabin ( it wasnât horrible or dirty smelling)
The washing machine doesnât self level during the spin out
The microwave was extremely loud.
The faucet on the tub over sprayed and made a mess
Only 2 jets in the tub worked.
The facility pool was not a clean as it should be and the water fall was not functional.
There was not a head board on the bed and you hit the blinds every time you move.
Again, the cabin was very clean. We would stay here again. The location makes up for the cons listed above.
Itâs was amazing we really enjoyed ourselves.the cabin was wonderful so clean and just perfect I would recommend this to anyone!! The best part for me was to ge to see the bears that was the neatest ever thank you for the wonderful stay we will be back
Really enjoyed our stay at Bear Paw inn. Cozy pet friendly cabin convenient to downtown. We saw bears close by three different times. Property is well maintained and clean and I would stay here again without hesitation next time we're in Gatlinburg.
Perfect for my husband and I and our two mini dachshunds. Pretty area with some flowering trees starting to bloom. Cabin was perfect and very comfortable. For a couple in their 70âs we did not have to deal with stairs at all and that was wonderful. We were only minutes to downtown Gatlinburg but we felt we were out in the woods by ourselves. I did see a bear on our last day enjoying the garbage dumpster, so I did not venture too close. Overall would love to return again.
I would recommend this place to others. It smelled cleaned when we walked in. Was perfect distance to downtown. It was a little small but fit me and my partner nice. The only complaint I have is that the hot tub gave me a rash.
This spot was perfect for our first trip!!!!
It was so close to any and all attractions you could think of!!
It was very clean and looked exactly like the pictures provided!!
The hot tub was by far the best part!!
Definitely would stay again!!
My wife and I stayed at the bear paw inn starting September 16th for a week. We found it cute, cozy and convenient to all the things Gatlinburg has to offer. If you sit on the deck towards Twilight and are quiet you have a good chance of spotting a bear cruising by next to the stream. We did three different times. We highly recommend the bear paw inn.
The cabin is just as the pictures show. Misty and Bobby were very accommodating and checked in with us by email to see how our stay was progressing. We are looking forward to returning to this charming location.
