We were so excited for this stay and chose this home specifically because it was advertised as having a heated pool, a big deal for our family and the main reason we booked it. We would have scrolled past this home if it didn’t have that option. Unfortunately, a few days after arrival and several back-and-forth messages, we learned there was no gas line connected to the pool heater, meaning it was never actually capable of being heated.The company tried to say the heater “just failed before our stay,” but both an employee and the pool vendor told us early on that it had never been hooked up. That’s not a last-minute issue, that’s false advertising.To make things worse, the spa didn’t work for the first three days due to a tripped GFI switch an issue they admitted has happened before. The breaker box was locked, so we couldn’t reset it ourselves, and it took three days to get someone out to fix it.They refunded part of our trip for the “inconvenience,” but this wasn’t just an inconvenience, it was an amenity that never existed. Companies need to remember there are families/emotions behind these bookings, families who work hard to give their kids experiences they’ll remember for a lifetime. We understand that things break; that’s life. But honesty, empathy, and doing the right thing are what truly matter.The home and area were beautiful; the owners did a great job designing but the disappointment was real and could have easily been avoided with transparency.I
