Very cute/clean rental. Just enough for 2 or 4. Picture for parking not as it appears. Only 1 vehicle fits. If we were to meet family there as a group of 4 only 1 vehicle could park there. Rental was hard to find, as it is tucked in behind another home. Look for house # on utility pole near street and turn down what looks like an alley. We circled the block a couple of times and could see it from the next street over running parallel to it. Difficult to locate.
Overall a warm and welcoming place. Appointed nicely. Dont go by instructions on the fridge. Just use ones up in the window in the kitchen. Enjoy, N And N
This spacious renovated quirky old milk barn was a charming, relaxing little getaway for my husband and I and our 2 yr. old Labrador. I loved the decor (vintage and antique) and it was equipped with everything we needed. Walking distance to the Beaumont Inn and other historic landmarks was very convenient. Very caring owner and management team! Highly recommend. Thank you!
Overall a wonderful place to stay! The hosts went above and beyond with little touches that made all the difference- extra towels, blankets and throws available, everything to make coffee, a lot of kitchen necessities, etc. The place was very clean especially for being pet friendly. The surrounding neighborhood was nice and the closeness to downtown was convenient. The primary bed was large, but uncomfortable and very squeaky due to being an antique style bed frame. The heat/AC units were a bit challenging to work and a manual would've been helpful. Overall was great for our needs and would return again!
I have given 5 stars because I believe most of my negatives are either personal preference or something that the host will fix once they know.ProsVery cute house. Nicely decorated. Plenty of room.Included Netflix was nice to not have to figure out my password.Great location. Quick walk into down town. Or walk the neighborhood with really neat old houses lined with old fashion light posts.Amazingly quiet for how many apartments are nearby. The host has thought of everything as far as necessity or convenience. Well stocked. I brought TP and paper towels because some places are chincy. There was plenty of both. ConsOutdoor pictures online are misleading. All cute decorations on front porch are no longer there. It was bare and dirty.Pictures also gave the impression you were in a more open area with some buildings behind you. There is a house right outside the front door with enough room to park 2 cars. They were totally quite the whole time, I was just expecting an open area which is specifically why I chose this house over rentals in Lexington that were in neighborhoods.Housekeeping needs to do better. Our tub had not been cleaned. There was a ball of hair in the bottom and soap scum that accumulated around a bottle on the shelf. The bed. Totally subjective. I know many people loved it. We slept so bad and woke up with such back pain we actually left a night early. All in all, if the bed were different we would totally go back.
Had a great stay! Electricity went out during a storm so they moved me to another place and even helped me load my stuff and unload. Very nice at both places and they couldnât have been nicer. Thank you all so much!
This was our second time staying at Beaumont Parlor. The cottage is well maintained and comfortable and the host really goes a step beyond supplying bathroom amenities and kitchen extras. The beds are comfortable and the overall vibe is so cozy. The location is within walking distance of downtown where there are several small shops and restaurants. We would definitely stay again.
This property was just what we needed. Very spacious. well-appointed and quiet. A little hard to find as itâs behind two other houses, but worth the search. Location also has many historic markers within walking distance, so we enjoyed a fun walk.
Four years ago we visited this area and loved the rolling hills, the quaint towns, Harrodsburg and Danville and, of course, Shaker Village. Then we were along the river and across from the Palisades. This time we chose to be closer in and stayed in the historic Milk Parlor and what a delight it was. It was equally as quiet as down at the river but only a short walk into town, which was part of our daily routine. We had all the comforts of home and we were surprised at the spacious accommodations, comfortable bed and well equipped kitchen, although this time we did more dinning out. We loved the Old Owl Tavern, and lunch and dinner at Shaker village. There was nothing lacking which made our 5 days there most memorable. We would love to return again someday and maybe we will!
