Couch cushions were black, carpets and rugs dirty, dust bunnies & items under furniture: band-aid, bottle caps, various debris. Kitchen counters sticky & needed cleaning. Piece of gum on the support post in kitchen. Half-smoked cigarette on deck floor. Deck chairs had pine sap & food remnants on them. Upstairs bunk bed had stained sheets, other bed had hair on the sheets. Downstairs bedroom had candy wrappers, water bottles & condom wrapper under the bed skirt. Refrigerator & cupboards had old & outdated food items. Refrigerator door would quickly fall backwards and bang against the wall if not held. 2 lamps in the primary bedroom didn’t work. Upstairs bunk bed lights would flicker but not stay on, & TV didn’t work. Downstairs bathroom door squeaky & woke people up. Building loudly cracks due to temperature swings. Dark paneling created dingy mood, lighting was dim & inadequate. No place to put belongings due to scant shelf space & closets occupied with items. Only a couple of facecloths provided, rest of stack actually was kitchen dishrags. “Lake view” only if you peered between trees in a narrow line of sight. 3-ring binder of information was tattered and missing pages. Instructions on bear wires suggested system could be armed while inside- which was physically impossible. Instructions were also confusing and inaccurate on arming bear wires on deck. Gate code for lake access old & outdated, it took several hours and a few phone calls to obtain correct access code.
