One of our best vacations.

Family vacation with 10 of us ranging in age from 7 years old to 60 something to do for everyone. Pool table, paddle boards, kayaks, games, and ping pong table were a few highlights for our group. A beautiful home with plenty of space to spread out and relax. The pool and dock kept us busy the whole week. Had a manatee visit one day and several nights of shark visits. Lizards galore and hermit crabs which kept my granddaughter excited. Great location in Islamorada. The pictures don't do it justice. Would recommend staying here if vacationing in the Keys.

Ted’s Place was a 10! Mark and Theresa were wonderful! Easy to communicate with and made sure that the home had everything one might need. Our family absolutely loved the outdoor space and the location in Islamorada couldn’t be better!

Amazing time at Ted's Place

We just spent 7 excellent days at Ted's place. We have been traveling to the Keys for years and this was the best house and overall experience we have had to date. The house is clean, perfectly located and comes with plenty of activities for everyone. We had 2 families with kids ranging from 18 down to 12 years old and they had a blast. The pool is spectacular, and the kayaks and paddle board's were used daily. Mark and Theresa were excellent, giving us great recommendations for restaurants etc. we will be staying at Ted's place on our next trip back to Islamorada.

Wonderful Stay

We had a wonderful time at Ted's Place. Mark and Theresa met us upon arrival which was helpful to get us started with everything. We booked fishing and tours based on the owners recommendations prior to our arrival (highly recommend so you can choose your dates/times). The house was very clean and lots of basics in the kitchen to help you get started. We are espresso drinkers and really appreciated the Nespresso! We saw a manatee our first night and regularly saw parrotfish and other mini fish right outside. We were able to use the paddleboard once, but the weather was a bit windy for more. Definitely would have been out more if we could've. Outdoor space is the best and loved being able to connect to the outdoor speakers. Pool was clean and a a great temperature all week. Beds are comfy (and my husband is very picky with his back issues). We enjoyed walking to many locations nearby, especially when the traffic was backing up in the late afternoon. Overall we recommend and would stay again!

This is an exceptional bayfront property. Gorgeous views of sunrise and sunset. Great family spot with something for everyone - pool, hot-tub, kayaks, paddle boards, etc. Mark and Theresa are wonderful hosts. Highly recommend.

Wedding Week

We couldn’t have been happier with our experience at Ted’s Place! Mark and Theresa were very welcoming and attentive to us before and during our stay, consistently communicating with us about our needs, all of which they were happy to accommodate. The property is beautiful and within the best location of Islamorada, in our opinion. This historical home and the history within it has so much character, and the views of the sunset are unbeaten. Our family enjoyed the games, paddle boards, and kayaks throughout the trip. Thanks again to Mark and Theresa for making it a trip we will always treasure.

Extended family trip

The outdoor setting is absolutely fantastic and the location can’t be beat as we could walk to several restaurants and bars. Teresa was always there to answer any questions we had! We ran into her at several of the places she and Mark had recommended - how great was that! Our only problem was the severe storms that came in during our trip but that was just bad luck/timing!

Awesome week at Ted's Place!

We were a family of 10 at Ted's Place for Christmas week. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't great, but the house, pool, hot tub, and all the fun things to do at the house helped to make our stay a wonderful time. Mark and Theresa are fantastic hosts - so easy to communicate with and full of helpful information about the area. We loved our stay at Ted's Place!

Excellent Property - Fantastic Location - Fisherman's paradise

Property was beautiful from the winding garden paths in the front yard to the bayside views. Well-appointed home with something for everyone. Pool, hot-tub, outside pool table, entertainment areas were first class. Our group even hosted an "Olympics" with all of the available game tables. Perfect for a large group - lots of areas for everyone to do their own thing and then come back together. Location is perfect - close to many bars, restaurants, shopping and attractions - all within a short and "safe" bike ride. Mark and Teresa were exceptional hosts throughout. We had some special parking needs, and they not only accommodated us, but met us personally to ensure that we were able to get settled. Protected dockage with quick access to not only back-country but ocean fishing, sandbar and alligator reef. I would highly recommend to family or friend groups looking to take full advantage of everything that the Keys has to offer.

Amazing family vacation!

Had an amazing week-long stay at Ted’s Place! Mark and Teresa started off by meeting us at check-in to explain how things worked around the house. They also let us check-in an hour early. We only experienced two very minor things we needed help with, and they were right there to remedy them for us! We had a family of 8 that ranged in ages of 7-85 and the house was very accommodating to all of our needs! The outdoor area was wonderful, and entertained everyone! The pool was one of the best we’ve had a short term rental, and was very warm! If you don't want to cook for yourself Ted’s Place is within walking distance or a very short drive to some of the best restaurants in the keys. Mark was even nice enough to email us a list of their recommendations for food and happy hours.

Perfect vacation home

We had a group of 9 adults celebrating an milestone birthday. This house was perfect for us with bed and bath locations, including one downstairs for the couple with knee issues. Making meals was so enjoyable in the fully stocked kitchen and the full extra fridge and the bonus beverage fridge outside. The outdoor areas around the pool and pool table with TV were great to watch sports and listen to music on the sonos. Mark was an amazing host, aiding us launching the boat and storing the trailer. Our 24 ft Key West easily moved in and out of the dock and we grilled the fish right there on the outdoor grill. The week flew and was hard to leave this wonderful rental.

Can't say enough about Ted's Place!

Everything Theresa and Mark say about Ted's Place is spot on. The location is great - walking distance to Lorelei, Islamorada Brewing, Mangrove Mikes, West Marine, and various other shops, bars, ice cream, restaurants, etc. The infinity pool is spectacular, and the large dock provided plenty of room for our 26' center console boat. Bedrooms are spacious and 4 of the 5 bedrooms are king beds with bathrooms. Our party included 6 adults (ages 40+) and 4 teenagers (ages 13-16). We are avid boaters, so the proximity of reefs, inshore and offshore fishing, and waterfront bars/restaurants was unmatched. Just be informed that boats bigger than about 30' will have a little bit of a challenge getting through the mangroves to the dock at the house, especially during low tide. The dock itself could easily accommodate multiple 20'+ boats. Theresa was the best VRBO host we've ever had. She lives nearby and is very responsive, not that we really had any issues. But she did join us for dinner at Lorelei one night! FYI for you boaters who tow your boat - I highly recommend paying the 60 bucks and launching at Safe Harbor Angler House. It's only a mile or so down the street and absolutely no wait to launch or retrieve as long as you avoid high-traffic times for the guides (8:00 - 9:00 am and 2:00 - 3:00 pm).

Our July Stay at Ted's Place

Our stay was awesome. Owners Mark and Theresa are great people. Among our many trips to rental properties in Islamorada, they are the first and only owners to actually meet with us on their property when we arrived to show us their home and answer any questions. Also, Theresa made herself available during our entire stay in the event that we had any issues or questions. Beautiful place! The sunset view is beautiful and we all enjoyed Ted's Place so much that we hated to leave. Thanks again to Mark and Theresa. Many thanks for our wonderful memories! The Skinners

Amazing stay!!!

Our stay was amazing! This house was perfect for our family! The kids (10 - 18) kept entertained with all the games (pool table, ping pong, table shuffle board, wall hooky, darts and corn hole boards). We loved the infinity pool! All beds were very comfortable!! Amazing views including sunsets! Kitchen had everything we needed. Plenty of room to park our cars. The owners were great to work with. Theresa took the time to walk us through the house and showed us everything we needed to know! I can’t say enough great things about this home. We will definitely be booking this home again next year. Thank you Theresa and Mark!!!

Beautiful Islamadora Waterfront with infinity pool

We stayed here for a week in February and thoroughly enjoyed this home. The waterfront location enabled us to rent a boat and tie it to the dock. The fishing was awesome and the owner was very helpful with fishing tips. We were welcomed with a bottle of champagne as well as sparkling water which was nice. The house was nicely stocked .with 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, there was plenty of room for everyone. The only negative to note is that three of the king beds are very low to the floor which makes it difficult for elderly or impaired guests to get up & down. The ping pong table got a lot of use. The outdoor area is amazing! Outdoor cooking area, covered pool table ,hot tub and infinity pool. We spent every day outside just enjoying the weather!

We loved Teds Place

There was a group of eight of us. We are all over 65 years of age. The house was beautiful and well stocked for our needs as far as cooking and straightening up. The views from the deck are magnificent. Mark was great to work with, and we would come back anytime.

Islamorada Escape

Spent a delightful week at this very special home which felt like a real escape because of the privacy and quiet it offers. The views to the water from the house are fantastic, as is the well-planned pool and deck area where we spent much of our time. Had much fun kayaking with the kayaks provided, as well as fishing. Hats off to Mark and Theresa who have managed to preserve the charm of the original home, while making tasteful improvements both inside and out!
